Following the server overload caused by the activity of the record, a hardware change should take place soon. Meanwhile, we propose three alternative dates for this year's record, which are Saturday 8th, 15th and 22nd August 2009. Due to an unavoidable technical incident, the record day is cancelled and postponed to August. Unfortunately, our current server proved unable to put up with the amount of requests caused by the high activity of record day, and froze after ten minutes of slow performance, despite our efforts to avoid such a situation, which led to reducing the processor use by 60%. The significant size of our database is responsible for this saturation and a server change will be discussed in the following days to solve this problem.
We apologise for the inconvenience and promise you the next record day will go smoothly.

Good evening!
Each year since 2006, we organise a posts in a day record at PC. The whole thing is quite simple: it consists in posting the most possible messages in a predetermined time span of 24 hours. The goal is not only to break a new record every year or bring more activity to the forums, but also to shuffle our topics in order to bring new discussions for the following year.
This is not a spam contest, and useless messages are obviously not welcome. However, the special conditions during the record day will be the cause of a certain leniency, especially as concerns old topics, which can be bumped freely.
Last year, 14120 messages were posted during the given 24 hours, and the winner was Beebop, with 2428 posts. We count on you all to break this outstanding record, which won't be easy. You can view the individual results here.
As concerns the rewards, all you need to know is that each post is worth 15 Tings within the given time span, and then come the bonus Tings: 1500 for participating (i.e. posting at least one message), 1500 for beating one's own posts in a day record (you can ask me to calculate it for you), and 3000 Tings for the winner. For example, Beebop gathered the staggering amount of 42420 Tings that day (which he all stupidly gave away later if my memory serves me well
).We have to choose a date, and I suggest Saturday July 25th from 0.00 AM to 12.00 PM (GMT+1), which must be adjusted depending on your time zone (feel free to post your time zone here if you aren't sure). For instance, it would be from July 24th at 11.00 PM to July 25th at 11.00 PM in the UK. If you have a problem with this date, please tell us as soon as you can; this will not be decided until all major posters have confirmed they should be able to come.
