The North American version also contains the Making of Rayman 2 and a fridge magnet, however part of the soundtrack was removed to save CD space. Despite its name, it bears no connection to Rayman 2 Forever, the Game Boy Color version of Rayman 2.
On March 29, 2011, Rayman Forever was released digitally via GOG.com, a DRM-free game distribution platform.[2] This version of the game (which the site's description dubs "the definitive version of the first Rayman game") additionally includes a PDF manual, an HD wallpaper, an MP3 soundtrack and two profile avatars. This version comes included with the DOS emulator DOSBox to run on modern computers. It does however not include the Making of Rayman 2 and retains the cut soundtrack from the original North American release. On March 21, 2019, the game was updated through the GOG Galaxy client with cloud save support.[3]
