- Re: Scrapped OST for Rayman 2 iOS
Yeah, I don't think it's got anything over the original, but still is an interesting piece of history I'm glad we were able to recover.
I think it would've still been neat as a difference for the iOS version if anything.

It is one of the best Rayman costumes that I've seen. Better than this one and definitely better than this one:
- Re: Rayman himself
I see the Michel Ancel's works and the only notable Rabbids that he appear credited are just the Rayman games (you know, RRR, RRR2 and RRRTVP). but Michel appear credit in the mobile Rayman games like Jungle run, Fiesta run and Adventures. Really Michel disliked the Rabbids too?
Although Michel created the Rabbids, but with the propose for be the antagonists of RRR when was intended for be fourth major installment. but when the team change the original ideas created by Michel Ancel like story and gameplay features, for create a Party game, Michel left the project, he was credited by created the original concept.
- Re: Rayman himself
I feel like looking back on Ancel’s whole career, not just Rayman, that he seemed easy to grow disinterested in his ideas and would start over on his concepts repeatedly. It’s not just Origins/Legends vs 1-3, the major differences between 1-3 are also pretty huge, and so is BGE compared to its sequel (which may never come out). Ancels been said on BGE2 to have thrown away loads of progress repeatedly for new ideas, which caused quite a bit of drama soon after his leave from UbiSoft (and might be related to such, even).
That kinda checks out when you notice how Rayman 1 was completely restarted like three times (one on SNES, the Jaguar version and then the PS1/PC/Saturn versions) and there was also so many differences in the game’s story (like three different versions iirc, right?), the fact that they started Rayman 2 in 2D before starting over in 3D, the dozens of differences in all of Rayman 2’s versions, how R2 holds little to no connection to the first game’s lore or content, and how Raving Rabbids underwent a huge transformation that abandoned not only the original three games, but was going to go against their lore and setup in the first place, considering he just wanted to make a parody of action films from the era rather than stick to what was established.
And although he wasn’t directly part of 3’s production, he seemed to be responsible for pushing Rayman to have a new design and thus a new, sillier/edgier(?) direction for the game, after the game already had a good bit of finished story and design.
In short while I appreciate all his works, I think Ancel just had a habit of starting over from scratch, often to the harsh detriment of game development. lol I’d like to hope someone at Ubi could take the mantle, but I can’t help but wonder who would be willing.
- Re: Off Topic
Yeah, it is basically witchcraft. I don't see any possibility of transmitting that much state intact, without cooling to some tiny fraction of a kelvin, which would kill you anyway But then, if we don't think about it because we think it'll never be possible, then someday someone actually figures out a way of doing it, I guess we'll wish we'd thought about it!
- Re: Rayman 2
Oh yeah that was you ^^
Easy as pie, just drop this in the Rayman 2/Data/World/Sound folder!
It doesn't line up 100% for some reason, I think it's just an issue with the PC version queueing the intro track like a second late, but it's close enough.
- Re: TTQ: Season 129 – PluMGMK
It's a bit after that!
- Re: Rayman 1 per-level soundtrack implemented within DOSBox
Well, firstly, the first 50 tracks are copied straight from the PS1 version, so naturally it's there, even if it's unused.
As for why it's unused, you can see the reason in one of my code comments:
Code: Select all
; Hooks to make the PC version use CD audio where it normally doesn't ; (but other versions normally do) ; Actually, screw the exit-sign one. Not only does the fanfare always get ; cut off for an actual exit sign, but it also gets engaged for certain ; non-exit-sign events (e.g. beating Mister Sax, using the WINMAP cheat, etc.) ; mov edx,[pExitSign1] ; call set_hookpoint ; mov edx,[pExitSign2] ; call set_hookpoint mov edx,[pPerdu] call set_hookpoint
- Re: Rayman fan game casting call
It´s amazing, sadly i can not animate, but i can give a lot of my Rayman knowledge to make the story more open and crazy!
I call myself `Rayman Bible´ bcuz i know EVERYTHING about Rayman and his friends.
You should add the Electoons cages idea in your fangame, finding cages and destroying them to save the Electoons looks awesome, also a Online leaderboard would be great (if you know how to code it )
In my case if this was my fangame i would do the next:
-add rayman 1 elements (livingstones, electoons cages, funni clowns, etc)
-add ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssam because i like him
-make a reference to globox moment
-world map to rayman style
-omg codes and cheats
-possibility to make 3 save files
-omg online leaderboards
-the rayman 3 temporal powers (the detergent powers, yall know)
-other cool things
Welcome to Pirate-Community, the largest Rayman community!
Yet there are many more birthdays to come! Despite the complete lack of Rayman news, the community is still strong, and while it may not see as much activity as it used to, it's still the one and only place for Rayman fans to go. In fact, with only 39,217 messages posted during the last twelve months, this is the quiestest year in the history of the forum, which now totals 1,319,591 posts.
RayWiki, however, has made good progress, with a Russian version being created, the first language addition since 2015. With 5,304 articles in 8 languages, it is the world reference when it comes to Rayman, and while this figure gives us an increase of 138 articles from last year, the real figure is actually between 300 and 400 due to an error, now fixed, in the way statistics were previously calculated.
Meanwhile, RayTunes still sees a lot of visits from music enthusiasts all around the world, and is so complete that it is now difficult to think of new additions to it!
Overall, things have been calm, but the community is still here, ready to boom shall Ubisoft decide one day to revive the Rayman series. In the meantime, we will keep working hard on the websites you love, and make sure that their incredible content is always there for you.
Long live Rayman, long live Pirate-Community!
The results from 2018 can be found here, while those from 2017 can be found here.
Unfortunately it looks like Santa won't be giving us Rayman's "fourth adventure" this year, but let's remain hopeful that it'll happen some day!
According to a recent data leak, he could be one of 1,297 spirits which will be included in the game. While this has yet to be confirmed by an official source, you can find more info including a screenshot of the spirit here.
Tonight we've successfully upgraded all of the software used by the forum and wiki as well as moved to a brand new server, with a much more recent configuration! This took a bit of time and lot of work but it seems to have gone smoothly.
While the new version of the forum was well tested and should work just fine, we're pretty much discovering the new version of the wiki at the same time as you and we're well aware of the few cosmetic issues that have appeared following the update. They shouldn't prevent its use and we'll be sure to fix them in the next few days!
Please note that from now on, there will be no need to log in to the forum and wiki separately, as our new single sign-on system will automatically log you in to the wiki if you're authenticated on the forum. We've also extended SSL usage to all of our subdomains, and that's probably about it for noticeable feature changes! While there are major differences under the hood between this version and the previous one, the goal is that it shouldn't be too different from the one you're used to.
Of course, if you notice anything strange please let me know and I'll get to it ASAP.
While the past year may have been the emptiest so far in terms of Rayman news, there's still a lot to say about the old games in the series, and in fact the forum saw a significant increase in activity at the beginning of this year. Over the last twelve months, 66,538 messages were posted, leading us to a grand total of 1,280,374. That's 7,834 more than the previous year, and while it's still less than we did eleven years ago in 2006/2007, this was without a record day (taking place this Saturday) and with a relatively recent activity bump, so we have many reasons to be optimistic about next year.
RayWiki, indisputably the number one source of Rayman knowledge, now features 5,166 articles in seven languages, an increase of 382 since last year. That's more than one content article a day, and I'd like to thank our contributors for this amazing work.
RayTunes is still the music behemoth we all love, with over 20 GB of high-quality music that our members now enjoy listening to directly on the forum.
And while no major features have been released lately, we're still working hard on software updates and upcoming improvements.
Thank you for your continued support, long live Rayman, long live Pirate-Community!
The 2018 Edition of the Favourite Rayman Game Survey is now up! Whether you filled the previous edition or if you're new, we hope you'll share your thoughts on our beloved series.
