Fourteenth years ago, Pirate-Community was created with the goal of bettering and consolidating a Rayman community in very bad shape. It goes without saying that no one expected such a success, let alone the community to still be around after all this time.

Rayman news are scarce these days, and with the only events last year being the announcement of yet another port (Rayman Legends: Definitive Edition) and that of a new title in a now separate series (Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle), it is safe to say that nothing happened in Rayman's world.

The forum is the first to suffer from such a dearth of news, and the 58,704 messages posted last year, for a total of 1,213,836, are the lowest figure since 2005/2006, setting us back to activity levels from over a decade ago. Thankfully, there's a lot more to it, and last year the forum saw a major update with everything being rewritten from scratch and dozens of new features and various improvements being added. A new staff was also elected, the modding and utilities subforum was created, and lots of new contests and various activities were launched.

Last year also saw RayTunes's biggest update since its creation, with a brand new website, an integrated player, the possibility to embed songs on the forum, and plenty of new tracks, among other things. It was a good year for RayWiki too, which now contains 4,784 articles in seven languages, an improvement of 305 over last year.

So, as you've figured out already, there's still a lot going on around here, and this is isn't going to change anytime soon.

Long live Rayman, long live Pirate-Community!

As some members may be aware, Photobucket no longer allows for free hosting of images on third party sites. As such, any signatures or other embedded images that were uploaded to Photobucket will not display on the forums, instead a watermark will take their place.

Members are recommended to migrate to another image host, or use RPC's attachment upload where possible.

RayTunes, our Rayman music archive, has just received its biggest upgrade ever! Apart from its new modern design, RayTunes 5.0 allows you to play every song in the collection on the website itself.
However, the content update is even bigger. Three completely new soundtracks (including the educative games) have been added and many soundtracks have received extra tracks. On top of that, every single soundtrack now has new or improved album art, better track names and tags. An MP3 archive is finally available for each one, as well as a FLAC archive for most.
More detailed info about the update can be found here. Enjoy!

Hi all,

I am happy to announce the return of our Rayman-themed contest, Manipulate the Image!

The goal is simple: take the Rayman-related graphic chosen by the contest's previous winner and modify it to make something amusing. You can essentially modify it any way you want, so don't be shy!
The current season is number 61, and the image to manipulate is Helico Ray. Entries can be submitted up to 9 June. The winner will receive Tings and the right to choose the image to be manipulated in Season 62!

Good luck to all!

Hello all!

I'm pleased to announce a brand new Rayman contest named: "Challenge of the Month". This contest is one where you can earn prizes for being the best in a specific challenge from the main series games. All you have to do is follow what the challenge says, and submit your score through a video.

The first challenge is to complete the Swamps of Forgetfulness bonus level as fast as possible. Remember to head on over to the thread once you're ready to submit your score.

Good luck and may the best competitor win!

Due to the heightened interest in modding and reverse-engineering the Rayman games over the last little while and the array of tools now available to the public enabling them to do so with ease, a new Modding & utilities subforum has been opened up! With relevant information, tools and resources organised and given more visibility than ever before, through the power of modding, we look forward to seeing the community bring us new ways of enjoying our favourite titles in the series!

Re: Video game console disc problems
Ray502 wrote:My PS2 struggles to read blue discs. Keeps making a clicking noise, preventing the game from starting. I have to either reset the console or hit it repeatedly to stop it. Lately though it has been fine. Don't know if that's a common problem or not.

My PS3 will try to eject a disc by itself when trying to load a game I inserted seconds prior. It makes the eject sound but doesn't actually eject the disc. That's rare though.

Other than that, I have had no problems with loading games that are console-related.

That's a common problem with a lot of PS2 consoles, you can try turning the console on with no game in it, press triangle then go to console and press x. Enable diagnostics and then put in a blue disc again. That's supposed to help calibrate the laser for CD games since it reads DVD games no problem from what you're saying.

That's what my PS3 does (it happened 3-4 months ago) however, it doesn't load the game and it makes a noise that happens some time when you load a file for a game after the eject sound and a what i think is a re-inserting disk sound plays. is there a fix to it?

Unfortunately you'll need to know how to take apart the PS3 to be able to do anything. You can try to clean the laser with alcohol and you might get lucky. The good news is lasers can be had now for less than €10 they're gone very cheap. What model is the PS3? There's 2 different laser types for both fat and slim.

Edit: That's not the sound of the disc ejecting but the drive mechanism resetting and moving the laser back to the resting position as it couldn't read the disc.

Edit 2: Turn the PS3 upside down and give it a good shaking. If it's only dust there's a small chance this might help but I doubt it. It'd likely need to opened. Opening them is actually easy and it's a lot better than spending crazy money that Sony will want from you.

Re: How's the weather?
The sky is blue... The sky is BLUE. Oh my God that looks gorgeous, I forgot what the sky looked like it's been so long since I've seen it. There's not a cloud in the sky and the sun is out. It's still cold as of yet but I'm not even going to complain because I got to see sky and that yellow sun :)

At the moment 4°C feels like 2°C

Re: weird commercials
Allow me to make a playlist a some point because I could have an absolute field day looking up adverts on YouTube.

Re: You know you suck at Rayman when...
I remember that power being in both Warped and TWoT but knowing me I'll still keep pressing x to try fly

At least the run button is R2 (same as I use in RO and RL :))

Re: Guilty or Innocent Game
Guilty though sometimes I use my phone like that instead.

Ever have a computer that keeps randomly blue screening and trying to figure out why is a headache?
