I'm pleased to announce a new Rayman contest named "Riddles of the Glade"! In this contest, competitors try to solve clues that reference to a character/object/place from the Rayman series to win prizes.
Head on over to the thread to learn more and compete.
Fourteenth years ago, Pirate-Community was created with the goal of bettering and consolidating a Rayman community in very bad shape. It goes without saying that no one expected such a success, let alone the community to still be around after all this time.
Rayman news are scarce these days, and with the only events last year being the announcement of yet another port (Rayman Legends: Definitive Edition) and that of a new title in a now separate series (Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle), it is safe to say that nothing happened in Rayman's world.
The forum is the first to suffer from such a dearth of news, and the 58,704 messages posted last year, for a total of 1,213,836, are the lowest figure since 2005/2006, setting us back to activity levels from over a decade ago. Thankfully, there's a lot more to it, and last year the forum saw a major update with everything being rewritten from scratch and dozens of new features and various improvements being added. A new staff was also elected, the modding and utilities subforum was created, and lots of new contests and various activities were launched.
Last year also saw RayTunes's biggest update since its creation, with a brand new website, an integrated player, the possibility to embed songs on the forum, and plenty of new tracks, among other things. It was a good year for RayWiki too, which now contains 4,784 articles in seven languages, an improvement of 305 over last year.
So, as you've figured out already, there's still a lot going on around here, and this is isn't going to change anytime soon.
Long live Rayman, long live Pirate-Community!
As some members may be aware, Photobucket no longer allows for free hosting of images on third party sites. As such, any signatures or other embedded images that were uploaded to Photobucket will not display on the forums, instead a watermark will take their place.
Members are recommended to migrate to another image host, or use RPC's attachment upload where possible.
RayTunes, our Rayman music archive, has just received its biggest upgrade ever! Apart from its new modern design, RayTunes 5.0 allows you to play every song in the collection on the website itself.
However, the content update is even bigger. Three completely new soundtracks (including the educative games) have been added and many soundtracks have received extra tracks. On top of that, every single soundtrack now has new or improved album art, better track names and tags. An MP3 archive is finally available for each one, as well as a FLAC archive for most.
More detailed info about the update can be found here. Enjoy!
I am happy to announce the return of our Rayman-themed contest, Manipulate the Image!
The goal is simple: take the Rayman-related graphic chosen by the contest's previous winner and modify it to make something amusing. You can essentially modify it any way you want, so don't be shy!
The current season is number 61, and the image to manipulate is Helico Ray. Entries can be submitted up to 9 June. The winner will receive Tings and the right to choose the image to be manipulated in Season 62!
Good luck to all!
I'm pleased to announce a brand new Rayman contest named: "Challenge of the Month". This contest is one where you can earn prizes for being the best in a specific challenge from the main series games. All you have to do is follow what the challenge says, and submit your score through a video.
The first challenge is to complete the Swamps of Forgetfulness bonus level as fast as possible. Remember to head on over to the thread once you're ready to submit your score.
Good luck and may the best competitor win!
Due to the heightened interest in modding and reverse-engineering the Rayman games over the last little while and the array of tools now available to the public enabling them to do so with ease, a new Modding & utilities subforum has been opened up! With relevant information, tools and resources organised and given more visibility than ever before, through the power of modding, we look forward to seeing the community bring us new ways of enjoying our favourite titles in the series!by Adsolution

- Re: RayTwol ~ Rayman 2 level editor (1.0 release)
Is it possible to add custom models into the game usin the RayTwol program?
There are some models in Rayman M (Rayman Arena, Rayman Rush), which would be great to include in the game.
The models in Rayman 2 look dated.

Maz wrote:Is there other Combos revealed by Cut/myself where you always had problems because of the time-frame?
Well, a few of your/Cuts combos cause some difficulties indeed. Now that I'm thinking of it, especially some combos with a tight powerup time-frame seem impossible to me. For instance in your Double Spinneroo Combo in SBTC 2, I just can't reach the upper level with the HMF (it'll run out at ~0:40), even if I ignore the yellow gems on the way. Or, in DOTK7, Cut said it's possible to kill two of the four Hoodbooms and convert the Lums while wearing the red powerup-suit from the first area. However I can't do it either.
Luckily the combo times are usually shorter than the powerup times, so that it shouldn't have such a big impact. There are still some combos, which might be impossible for me, but I wouldn't blame it all on the different game speed (even though it'd serve as a nice excuse ).
Sure, all that is still a bit unfortunate, but after all there were always lots of platform differences in this game, so one more or less...
I guess we'll simply have to deal with it.Maz wrote:If it's not that, there isn't really any useful tips I can give you. Some probably obvious things:
1. After finishing off the second Hoodstormer, get as close to the gate as possible to ensure that the Heckler spawns immediately.
2. As soon as the gate opens, immediately strafe backwards.
3. Immediately shoot the Heckler once he enters the room from as far a distance as possible while strafing back (preferably at all times).
4. Once you hit your hit-button for the second time, IMMEDIATELY release strafe and run for the can. On your way there and back to the Yellow Gem, try to go in as straight a line as possible, as swerving eats up additional time.
Thanks, I'll make sure to follow your advise! Then I'll see whether I can master the combo or whether I'll have to admit defeat. In the latter case it'll probably come down to the IPG in part 1. With this I should be allowed to make quite a few combos easier.
In any case, I look forward going for a "real" maximum again. Seeing a nice 100009 on the counter before the final combo points are ticking in...

Another girl messed with < today.
She bumped into < on purpose and was like "oh sorry, you were in the way..." and played as if she was innocent.
< had a T-square at that time. Does < really has to use it? Probably not..

- Re: Running Rayman Forever's GOG release w/ larger resolution & gamepad?
I set up Joy2Key with my XB1 controller to emulate the arrow and letter keys, but when I run Forever in the Rayman Plus config with a bigger window, the controller input doesn't register at all. Every time I think I solve a problem with this, a new one pops up.
EDIT: Tried the game again and now it worked. Better late than never!
- Re: Mon grand retour.
