Today, we celebrate a remarkable milestone in the history of Pirate-Community: it's with immense joy and pride that we watch as our community turns twenty! Two decades of camaraderie, knowledge sharing, and passion for the Rayman series – it's a journey that began with a small group of fans and has grown into a vibrant and thriving community that stands as a testament to our enduring love for all things Rayman.
As we reflect upon the past year, the most important news is of course the announcement and upcoming release of
Rayman in the Phantom Show, the DLC for Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope which will mark the return of the limbless hero. We hope for it to be a success and pave for the way for Rayman to come back in his long-awaited fourth adventure.
In terms of research and exploration, this year has been nothing short of exciting. We've witnessed the unveiling of an
early version of Rayman Raving Rabbids, featuring platforming and combat elements. The source code and editor published alongside it allowed modders to polish the prototype and release a much-improved version, playable by the everyday fan. The publication of new images originating from the cancelled Rayman 4 by Phoenix Studio also shed light on this elusive prototype. Overall, the modding scene continues to flourish, with innovative patches and enhancements that breathe new life into classic Rayman titles.
The realm of fan games is abuzz with activity too, and the release of
Rayman: The Dreamer's Boundary was the highlight of the year in that regard, while the
Rayman: Alive livestream gathered an impressive amount of viewers eager to discover the many other fan projects it showcased. The development of projects such as
RaymanDesigner.com, a new hub for Rayman Designer levels, also promises a future rich with creative endeavors. Needless to say, we find ourselves awed by the remarkable accomplishments and continued enthusiasm that define our community.
In other news, our
third edition of SpeedRay, the speedrunning contest, was a resounding success, celebrating the twentieth anniversary of Rayman 3, showcasing the incredible talent within our community and awarding deserving winners with shiny prizes. The past year also saw the opening of our new Russian-speaking forums, as well as RayWiki joining forces with the Gaming Wiki Network, a network of independently-hosted gaming wikis. Pirate-Community remains a vibrant hub where fans from around the world come together to celebrate their shared passion. The dedication of our members and the tireless efforts of our staff have ensured that this place remains a haven for discussions, discoveries, and delightful interactions.
In terms of statistics, the numbers tell a story of our community's vitality. Over the past year, 8,575 messages were posted on our forum, contributing to a grand total of 1,371,471 messages. RayWiki continues to stand as the ultimate Rayman knowledge hub, with 128 new articles added this year, bringing the total count to an impressive 6,105 across 8 languages.
As we mark this twenty-year milestone, we extend our deepest gratitude to each and every member of our community. Your unwavering support, passion, and camaraderie have made Pirate-Community a place like no other. With the Rayman series holding a special place in our hearts, and with the future holding endless possibilities, we look forward to another twenty years of discovery, discussion, and celebration.
Long live Rayman, and long live Pirate-Community! Cheers to the incredible journey that brought us here, and to the exciting adventures that lie ahead.
