Re: Rayman Origins
It didn't take Rayman long to convince the people of the Glade of Dreams of his good intentions ... And when he triumphed over the evil Mister Dark, the truth was undeniable: Rayman was the bravest of them all, the ideal hero ...
This reference to Mr Dark’s defeat occuring after Rayman’s first ...

Re: Rayman Origins
(By the way, my comment about the idea of R1 and R2 existing in different universes was just a random thought and was not directed at you; also, my double use of the word ‘very’ was accidental and sounds condescending now that I’ve spotted it.)
I was not assuming your comment was directed at me ...

Re: Rayman Origins
The little prologue story in the Rayman 2 manual describes Rayman and Globox fighting the Robo-Pirates together in the Great Forest right before Rayman gets captured. Globox was described as a fighter from the very very first time he was introduced. He also stands up against the Hoodlums in Rayman ...

Re: Rayman Origins
Sorry if this has already been brought up, but isn't there a continuity error about Globox? In origins he is supposed to be very violent and fearless, whereas in Rayman 2 and 3 he is almost Pacifistic ( the only mention of him ever fighting back is a sign in the second area of the canopy) and is ...

Re: Rayman Origins
That's good news. Obviously ancel will be eager to make more Rayman games. The question is whether he will be allowed to or not. I suppose it all depends on how much Origins makes.
As to 3d games, will these be new games or remakes of old ones. Both are fine but I would prefer the former. It can ...

Re: Rayman himself
 Hang on. Wern't you arguing that Rayman could by made limbless on the thread on Raymanzone?
No, I was specifically arguing that Rayman’s limblessness was not a part of his original design. We have been told that he was originally designed with limbs and that they were removed due to ...

Re: Rayman Origins
: I'm being quite nostalgic now.
The very first time I met Rayman was in my 8 years old. I was in a house of an ex-neighbour and I had my first contact with this limbless wonder with PS1's Rayman 1 game. It has been already 10 years! After 1 hour of gameplay, I got immediately hooked to Rayman 1 ...

Re: Rayman himself
Rayman’s limblessness is the most integral quality of his design. The helicopter hair is only seen occasionally, whereas he is visibly limbless at all times – it is his most identifiable trait. The developers actually considered giving Rayman limbs in Rayman 3, but thankfully they came to their ...

Re: Rayman Origins
Talking about him like he's a messiah, like some do here, is blind faith. :P
As far as I am aware "Messaih" means "person who saves". Since, if this goes well, he may save the entire series that title may be justified.
I understand that there are a great many very ethuisiatic Rayman supporters ...

Re: Rayman Origins
I'm talking about your blind faith in Ancel.
Well... He did give us Rayman 1, Rayman 2, the concept of Rayman 3 and, of corse, the concept of Rayman 4 (before it deteriorated into utter nonsense) so I don't personally see any reason to doubt him, that's just my opinion though.
But I ...

Re: Rayman Origins
Also, surely all this information is worth an update on the pirate community portal?
No, these days the portal is only updated for extremely major news. It’s in need of an overhaul but that’s for another day.

Re: Rayman himself
Well, correct me if I'm wrong, but Rayman has been known as "the limbless hero" for quite a long time now. His lack of limbs may be due to graphical reasons originally, but it became one of the key elements of the character design and some game mechanics, e.g. the telescopic fist. It is a feature ...

Re: Rayman himself
Oh yes and by the way, how do I change the picture to the right of my posts? I'm fine with a protoon but I'm sure there are better heroes/villains. Sorry if this is a bit off topic by the way.
