Re: Movies you just recently watched
Inside Out didn't look too appealing to me from the trailers, but considering all of the endless praise it's getting, I'll definitely watch it sometime in the future. That aside, has anyone here seen (or even heard of), the latest Studio Ghibli film, When Marnie Was There? It's based on the British ...

Re: Something Bothering you?/Daily Doldrums
I've been rather depressed and discontent, as of late. It just seems like for the last three months, I've been going through the motions, with no real goal, or sense of purpose, or satisfaction in my life. I haven't drawn much of anything in the last six months, and when I do, it either is complete ...

I've made a (rather long) YouTube video regarding Disney's distribution of Studio Ghibli films in America:
http://youtu.be/QgKD8mkVaOI
I would like for people to watch the video, and provide critique/opinions on it.

Re: Anime
I'm trying to get the Studio Ghibli film, Only Yesterday, released here in North America. As I've already said, Disney refuses to release this film. However, Criterion might be able to purchase the distribution rights from Disney, and finally release the film here, they just need to be convinced to ...
Re: Anime
I see. Thank you for responding. As long as I eventually buy a legitimate copy, I see nothing wrong with it. Especially, considering this movie is not available for purchase in the US in any form, so it's not like I'm cheating the owner of the US distribution rights (Disney) out of any money.
Re: Anime
I just checked, and it appears that The Pirate Bay is hosting a few rips of the subtitled DVD version of Only Yesterday. I've never used The Pirate Bay, so I have a few questions. Namely, is it very safe to download files from this site? Is it legal to do so if I eventually get around to buying a le...

Re: Something Bothering you?/Daily Doldrums
I think I'm going to leave the forum in general... I like all of you, but I just don't feel like I belong here. I don't really feel like I belong anywhere If that's the way you feel, then so be it. Hopefully, you can find someplace where you belong in life. Just remember that you can come back anyt...

Re: Movies you just recently watched
I recently watched The Tale of The Princess Kaguya. My God is this movie fantastic. It's definitely one of best Ghibli films ever made, and one of the best films I've seen period. If was effortlessly beautiful for start to finish. If you can, watch this movie right now. Also, here's a little review ...

Re: Something Bothering you?/Daily Doldrums
Please don't, just don't. Life is too unique and ambiguous to just give up and throw it away. Things might suck now, but could get better later. There's so many things you could go on and do. Life can suck and be a miserable, pathetic thing, but it also can be a wonderous and beautiful thing. There'...
Re: Anime
Does anybody here know some way I can watch the Studio Ghibli film, Only Yesterday, without having to import a DVD copy from a different country? I live in the US, so Disney is responsible for the majority of Ghibli releases, however, they refuse to release Only Yesterday over here for unknown reaso...

Re: Movies you just recently watched
But really, I would suggest a ghibli movie, they are definateley god-tier in many's eyes I'd suggest: Princess mononoke, spirited away, nausicca, howls moving castle Definitely. Ghibil has possibly become my favorite animation studio, or even film studio period. They've made so many great films. If...

Re: Movies you just recently watched
I recently watched The Wind Rises. Definitely one of Miyazaki's finest. The whole film has a lot to take in, so I'll watch it again when the Blu-Ray version officially releases here in North America.
Re: Off Topic
The Backwater Gospel has some of the best CGI animation I've seen, stylistically. A prime example of how to make your film visually stand out from the crowd.

Re: Something Bothering you?/Daily Doldrums
Not really anything too horrid, but at the moment, I'm home schooled and behind on my work to the point where I'll have to do some crunch-time to get caught back up. On another note, my grandmother is living with us at the moment and she smokes a fair bit (outside of the house, but the scent is on h...
Re: Off Topic
Since this has been a matter I pondered on numerous times, I might as well contribute my view to the discussion. First off, I do concur that both types of animation offer different ways of storytelling. I must say, though, that I have a preference for hand-crafted forms of animation over CGI, likely...

You didn't include some of the additional details regarding WiLD, DandyGuy. I'll list them below, and perhaps the introductory post can be updated accordingly. Additional Details: The game is releasing exclusively on PlayStation 4 and will be published by Sony Computer Entertainment. The game's worl...
