I figured it out, I tried heaps of stuff and was about to give up, right clicked and selected 'Run As Admin' and it started up fine :O

I "installed" RM on W7-64 by literally copying both discs to a single folder. It works (though R2-like resolution hack does not). However my Windows 7 is quite stable for a PC... I believe. I tried installing like that but every time I tried to run the game it said 'please run the DX8 set...
