Re: Rayman Origins

That's not news, I posted it a few pages ago. :P He's actually doing both Rayman Origins and Beyond Good & Evil 2, but not with the same team. He has time, don't worry. He just likes doing several things at once. ;) Hmm, I said I was going to translate the whole conference... but I forgot. I'll...

Re: Rayman Origins

Why do you guys always pick on Spiraldoor? He's the one who got me to come to this board to find that lost Rayman 3 minigame (although still haven't found it), but he seems to be the one with the most knowledge of background information and making of on the Rayman games, even if he gets a little bit...

Re: Rayman Origins

How do we know that Ancel is actually working on the game? I know we can deduce it from the other parts of the rumour coming true, but have Ubisoft made any official announcements about it? Well Ubisoft will probably never make an official statement, but yeah, it's deduced mostly from what Nicolas ...

That's fine with me. Then she might jump Rayman's bones finally if she's feeling up to it.

Re: Rayman Origins

Chill. This is a light-hearted episodic prequel being developed by a team of five. I very much doubt anyone at Ubisoft considers 'Rayman Origins' to be a replacement for the main franchise, even after seven years of absence. A team of five including Ancel. This is very important. He decided the gam...

Re: Rayman Origins

Why are you all so down on this game? I just saw the trailer today and it looks amazing! It's a return to form! Start back at Rayman 1! This is going to be great. Is co-op mode happening? Also, you guys, this is THE Rayman vision, as this is the Rayman game Ancel has worked on recently. So why all t...

Re: What Rayman games you own

You guys can't find Rayman Bowling? It's pretty easy to find all Rayman games for mobile phone, except Rayman Gardens and the old Rayman Golf. You just need some sort of USB hook up, since most Rayman games aren't available to buy anymore from Gameloft so you have to download them from shady sites. ...

Re: Bye Ancel

Yeah, that's true, but to Ubisoft, the game is still a failure in their eyes, which isn't really fair in my opinion.

Re: Bye Ancel

How old are you mate? Rayman Rush was one of those games that did well in charts but didn't do well when it came to magazine reviews with scores as low as 36% [as given by Gamesmaster]. Reviews don't really mean anything to some people eg me and they just buy the game anyway, same with other "...

Re: Bye Ancel

Even if Ubisoft did release an R4 that tallied with the greatness of R2 in terms of game design, I don't think this greatness would be reflected in the sales income. In my opinion there's no room for platformers like Rayman in the market anymore, because fans have become more interested in high-tec...

Re: Things you hate about Ubisoft

I hate Ubisoft for making an exclusive version of Rayman 3 for Gamecube and then failing to explain how to unlock all of these extra minigames and features. I hate them even more for not understanding what the hell I'm talking about when I e-mail them multiple times asking how to unlocked 2D Nightma...

Re: Bye Ancel

You make it sound like Rayman is some 'huge regrettable misstake' Ubisoft made. :| I'm sure they think it is. But that doesn't make any sense!! Where would Ubi be if they didn't have Rayman to save their asses with his first game? They would probably still be around, but they wouldn't be as far as ...

Re: Bye Ancel

I too would chime in and say Nicolas Choukroun is probably our most trusted source for now. News websites and Ubisoft themselves are unreliable. Also at Idlethumbs, the same Ubisoft employee is hinting that Beyond Good and Evil 2 has been on hold since January. Or "off the rails" as he put...

Re: Bye Ancel

Looking it up in wikipedia he was the co designer. This is incorrect. Often times Wikipedia gets plagued by fans adding opinion or trying to "make" things true. Next time if you need game credits *always* look on Mobygames first, since Mobygames uses credits taken directly from the credit...

Re: Bye Ancel

Just thought of something: In an interview a while back, Ancel said that a Rayman sequel was "a definite possibility". He wouldn't say that if he was already in full production of an R4, so if they are making a new Rayman game, they've probably been working on it for less than a year. Thi...

Re: Bye Ancel

Well look what we have here! Re: Bye Ancel

Well the reason I'm hoping this rumor is not true (both websites saying the rumor is true or false are all kind of shady) and Ubisoft is going to premiere BG&E2 at E3 after all is that if Ancel were to really leave Ubisoft, he would no longer have access to Rayman or Beyond Good and Evil. I real...

Re: Bye Ancel

I'm hoping this rumor stays false, then, and now since Ubisoft seems to have just promised some kind of big Beyond Good and Evil showing at E3, they'd better come through on their word. Even as a famous game designer, where must he get the money from to start a successful studio? Sure, two designers...

It's still just a rumor, but it seems Ancel has left Ubisoft out of difficulties with management. He'll be missed if so.
