Re: Rayman 1
The one in the US release is an identical copy of the VIGNET.DAT file. Most other releases seem to not include it at all and the game doesn't use it as far as I know, so it's probably a mistake to have it there at all. The 50 mb one is odd though. It's definitely not an archive. In fact it seems to ...

Re: Dinosaur modder - Update on 2 channel .gf files!
No problem. Being able to view and edit these graphics is fairly new in RCP and I haven't actually tested it on all the games using the CPA engine, so I'm glad it works here as well! Btw, if you haven't seen it already I'd also recommend checking out the raymap map viewer by Droolie and Robin as it ...

Re: Dinosaur modder - Update on 2 channel .gf files!
The vignette files are all 565 using the same format. So 5 red bits, 6 green bits and 5 blue bits. That's a standard 16-bit format when there is no transparency.

Re: Dinosaur modder - Update on 2 channel .gf files!
I haven't played this game before, but using the Tonic Trouble configuration in RCP it seems to be able to read them: Rayman_Control_Panel_2022-10-19_13-28-46.png Looking there it seems to be a combination of 4444 and 565 color formats (depending on if it's transparent or not). I'm not sure if this ...
Re: Rayman 1
This discussion reminds me... Who can explain to me what is the WldDesc.dat file under PCMAP in Rayman Designer? It is present on the Rayman Forever CD, and is different between the French and English versions. It has the vignette files (they are .pcx images). You can open all the Designer archives...
Re: Rayman 1
I'm not sure how many bytes exactly, I think it might be one dword per pixel for each sprite of the platform. So if you had a really small / simple sprite (< 300 pixels I guess), it probably wouldn't happen… It's probably one byte per pixel since it's all paletted 8-bit image data. That's quite int...

Re: Rayman Control Panel (Rayman PC tools & utilities)
That's odd about the language. The patch shouldn't be effecting that as it just replaces the textures and memory config files. I saw you posted a similar question here before and it got resolved. The patch in the Rayman Control Panel should be identical to what is linked there though. Which version ...

Re: Rayman 1 Expert - 82 New Levels
That happened to me once as well when testing some level edits I could keep typing on my keyboard and it'd keep writing those characters on the screen. Here it also starts by saying "Stack overflow", so I'm assuming that's what causes this.

Re: Ubisoft Deleted Jungle/Fiesta Run?
Edit: Just noticed I still have Fiesta Run installed on an old iPhone I had and it seems to have the DLC levels. It's not jailbroken though, so probably won't help much. Oh wow, any idea what version of Fiesta Run that is? Since earlier this year, it's really easy to jailbreak old 32-bit devices (R...

Re: Ubisoft Deleted Jungle/Fiesta Run?
That's a bummer that it's broken on iOS as well. On Android Jungle Run has a similar issue, but it's not too hard piecing it together as the downloadable assets can be copied in as normal files. I have however no idea how it works on iOS. For Fiesta Run the Android files appear to still be up: http:...

Re: Rayman Control Panel (Rayman PC tools & utilities)
No, that seems extremely unlikely. Steam doesn't care if you modify your local game files, especially not for a game without an internet connection (Origins doesn't even have any Steam DRM or connectivity unlike Legends). You can also restore your game files to their original state in Steam if you e...

Re: Rayman Control Panel (Rayman PC tools & utilities)
Rayman Control Panel can't open disc files. You need to install them first. Rayman Activity Center I don't believe works on newer Windows versions and I don't know of any fixed for it. Best advice I can give there is to use a virtual machine with Windows XP or older. French with Rayman will work fin...

Re: Rayman Jungle/Fiesta Run patch (Android)
It's been a while since we made this patch, so I don't know why it doesn't seem to work anymore. Which Android version are you on? Might be some change there. The patch doesn't change anything with the download process besides replacing the URL from using Ubisoft's servers to a reupload on archive.o...

I don't think it was set up that those challenges could be automatically created. Back then UbiMya manually set those up for a while (she made a special challenge once a week if I remember correctly).

Re: Rayman (Game Boy Color)
Also, I wanna ask you just in case, am I allowed to use these files for my recreated levels of this game in Rayman ReDesigner? The PPC/PalmOS and Greyscale pictures in particular were some of the things I missed to truly replicate the bonus screens and some of the cutscenes! I'll credit you for pro...

Re: Rayman (Game Boy Color)
Nice to see some work being done on the GBC versions! :) I included here the animations (as .gif files) and the vignette from all versions of the games. Especially the vignette might be useful as it has some exclusive ones for the online challenges. I had to split them up into multiple files due to ...

Re: Searching for Rayman 1 Japanese demo version
But wait, this was on PlayStation? It looks just like a Jaguar version! :o Does that mean they ported the Jaguar engine to PlayStation before scrapping it and writing a new engine? :? (I feel like I knew this before and have forgotten :oops2:) No, this is using the same engine as the final game. It...

Re: Ray1Editor - Rayman 1 Level Editor
Yep, you can just copy it over. You should include the label offsets as well though if they're present as the commands rely on them. I've released the new update now (0.2.0.0). I should also note I removed the updater in this update, so future updates will have to be downloaded from the GitHub relea...

Re: Ray1Editor - Rayman 1 Level Editor
I see. I'll have a look and see if I can implement something for editing the commands. Edit: Would something like this work for you? 2022-02-21_17-21-23.png It's would just be editing them as raw data, but that's the easiest way of doing it. I can also include some info in the window for what instru...

Re: Ray1Editor - Rayman 1 Level Editor
I mostly didn't implement it since I'm not sure how to best present it in the UI. The editor does store the commands and write them back when saving, so modifying the data itself would be rather simple. From my understanding the devs basically wrote the commands like in the Rayman Designer MLT files...
