Re: Rayman Origins
So, what about petition? Anybody likes this idea?
Re: Rayman Origins
I think you should read previous posts about the issue. An american retail sheet seems to prove (although not confirmed) that a PC version will be made.NotaKuroi wrote:So, what about petition? Anybody likes this idea?

Re: Rayman Origins
We've been waiting for a Rayman game for eight years, so I'd rather wait and ask for a PC version later than annoy the developers before the game is out—anyway, it's not even like a petition would have any effect.NotaKuroi wrote:So, what about petition? Anybody likes this idea?
All right, you can see the artworks from the official E3 pack here! Some are new, some aren't.

You're about list of games from Neogaf forum? I saw it. But why PC-version still not announced? That's strange.Haruka wrote:I think you should read previous posts about the issue. Re: Rayman Origins
I hate to shoot you down, but if you can find a single example of an online petition producing any kind of positive result I'll eat my hat.NotaKuroi wrote:So, what about petition? Anybody likes this idea?
A PC version of Origins would be motivated by the question "Would the earnings justify the cost?" Making a PC version means porting, testing, changes to controls, making sure it runs of assorted hardware, setting up installer software, separate disc printings and so on. If Ubi thinks they can make a buck, they'll do it. If they don't, they won't.

Re: Rayman Origins
As much as I agree with you about the petition, it's not like Origins wasn't being developed on PC
Re: Rayman Origins
Well sure, but if you wanna get technical, all games are developed on PCsHunchman801 wrote:As much as I agree with you about the petition, it's not like Origins wasn't being developed on PC

Re: Rayman Origins
Sure, but while some games are developed specifically for the architecture of a given console and may require considerable efforts in terms of porting, this is in no case the situation of Origins, whose porting doesn't seem to be much a technical challenge to me.AJack wrote:Well sure, but if you wanna get technical, all games are developed on PCs

I can give an example:Hunchman801 wrote:Sure, but while some games are developed specifically for the architecture of a given console and may require considerable efforts in terms of porting, this is in no case the situation of Origins, whose porting doesn't seem to be much a technical challenge to me.
Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee and Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath were games developed only for the classical Xbox in the beggining but they are available now for the PC thanks to the Oddworld Inhabitants team that ported the game to it.

Re: Rayman Origins
The E3 package I was given access to also contains two short biographies of Ancel and Shrager, in a file called ‘key speakers’:
MICHEL ANCEL :
Michel Ancel is best known for creating the iconic Rayman and Raving Rabbids franchises as well as the now cult, action-adventure game Beyond Good & Evil. He also worked with Peter Jackson on the video game adaptation of King Kong. Michel’s approach to design seeks to break down traditional boundaries in video games and create a sense of freedom in his games; he strives for the perfect balance between form and function; accessibility and challenge. To support his vision, Michel created the UbiArt Framework, a new engine conceived and developed with a highly flexible architecture that allows for an amazing amount of creative freedom. Michel—who first sketched Rayman at age 17—returns to his roots with Rayman Origins – a deeply immersive, modern take on the classic 2D platformer.
GABRIELLE SHRAGER :
Gabrielle Shrager has been writing and designing stories for games for over 10 years. Before joining Michel Ancel on Rayman Origins, she most recently worked with Eric Chahi on From Dust, co-wrote the game scripts for Peter Jackson and Steven Spielberg’s upcoming Tintin adaptation and last year’s BAFTA Children’s Game of the Year, Rabbids Go Home. She has contributed narrative design, world-building, characters and dialogue to many other Ubisoft productions including Beowulf, Ghost Recon and Rayman Raving Rabbids games.
Re: Rayman Origins
Words can't name it, so I'll just say I'm amazed. The trailer too. Everything.
Now, I wasn't expecting that my absolute favorite folk song and one of my definitely favorite video game tracks... Korobeiniki... may actually be in the game.
What were the chances. Now look. KOROBEINIKI. MY FAVORITE. Yes.

Re: Rayman Origins
I also thought it looked similar to the Jano-like arms seen in the Cave of Bad Dreams and the Tomb of the Ancients. The dark and bubbly look of these arms makes me wonder if Rayman is nearing one of Polokus’s nightmare zones in that screenshot.Haruka wrote:That quite reminds me the Rayman 2's skeleton arms that appeared in the Cave of Bad Dreams and the Tomb of the Ancients. I speculate that those arms in the picture might be actually the arms of the owning creatures before getting without skin, for some kind of reason. (Time passage?)

Re: Rayman Origins
The piranhas are lovely this time of year.
Does anyone else find the acoustic guitar music towards the end of the Infernal Kitchen section of the E3 demo strangely familiar? I can’t quite place it.

Re: Rayman Origins
The Banjo&guitar music is a reference to this, methinks.

I definitely heard that tune in there a lot.

Re: Rayman Origins
This is cool!
What about the very first song used for the introduction?
What's the title and author of that one?

Now I'm relieved! There's even a larger type of fish, maybe piranhas too.spiraldoor wrote:The piranhas are lovely this time of year.
