As a child i always wanted to know the purpose of that O in the middle of his body. Did the designers not know what to put there? Anyway in terms of design i think Rayman looks his best without the hoodie the Ascot makes him look like an adventurer i really wish Origins and Legends kinda had a costume based on the Original Sprite.

I have no problem with either costume, but I do really like the hoodie personally tbh. I really like Origins and would never have joined here or got back into the series if it hadn't been for that game, so I really like it for that and the fact that it has amazing artwork and is overall just a really fun game to play. I'd have no problem if he wore the scarf, but I do really like the hoodie costume too and it would have been adapted from Rayman 3.
EDIT: Maybe 2 alternative costumes would have been a good idea in the UbiArt games, where one consists of a scarf and the other has a hoodie.

Somebody said to me that the circle on Rayman's chest was a plug socket, a throwback to when he was supposed to be in a virtual world, which is...interesting, and makes sense since it's where his powers would "plug into", though it only resembles one kind of socket to me and that's an audio socket.
I think Ubisoft kind of want to keep us guessing...but it's important, as it appears in various places in Rayman's world.
As a matter of fact, in Rayman 1, Betilla also bears the mark, and since Betilla is the one to stand up to Mr Dark when he takes The Great Protoon, perhaps she is a gaurdian, like him.

At the risk of sounding rather obvious, Betilla is left-handed and this seems to indicate the symbol's placement is indicative of someone's powers and/or personality.
At the most basic level,Betilla has the power to give and Rayman to recieve. To get more speculative, perhaps Betilla has a power of generousity (hands) and Rayman of courage (heart).

According to
RayWiki:
That game features Roman legionaries based on several popular video game characters, including Mario, Sonic, Pac-Man and Rayman. A painting that can be seen on a wall shows a Rayman legionary pulling a rabbit out of a hat, despite the fact that the game was released a year before Rayman Raving Rabbids.

Maybe there was an explanation for it in the old Jimmy backstory?

I don't know if anyone has noticed it yet but Yan Le Pon (one of the creators of cancelled Rayman 4) started working for Étranges Libellules (the developer of Asterix & Obelix XXL 1-2) in 2008. It was after the creation of these games but still a funny coincidence.

I have never noticed it in my life.

Neither did I, though this is clearly no coincidence.

To be fair, you wouldn't really have paid attention to it unless you had taken a screenshot at that exact moment. It's not something that's easily noticeable.
I guess it's easy enough to see in the image with Mister Dark, but I still never noticed it myself.

Well I actually noticed it during the game but I thought it was just something appearing when she's giving Rayman a power.

Has the l`histori de rayman even been translated?

Nope, some people volunteered to do it but an unlicensed translation would have caused issues in terms of intellectual property.

I do wonder what became of the official translation effort.

Honestly I wouldn't mind just having a copy of L'histoire de Rayman. Obviously I'd have to translate through a dictionary/internet/etc. if I want to read the book, but I still would like to get one in the future regardless for myself.
