It's still possible that Humch is suffering from input lag though, if Rayrobi reckons the rings do indeed launch Rayman on the tangent – with that amazing time score, I'm pretty sure they know what they're talking about!

Also, should the topic title be changed? :fou:

I had forgotten to do that, and I also need to change the image in the first post. :P

Hunch seemed to be using a TV when he sent an image before, so it's possible that his TV could have input lag. It's possible it even just might not be set to game mode.

I play directly on Windows but I use a PS4 controller and my TV as a screen, like Steo said. Maybe that's why!

I've replayed the level just because I was worried that I might just send people the wrong way, but I can confirm Rayman launches tangentially (and I can do it consistently as well, so there's no luck factor). So:
RaymanRing.png
That is more or less the position where one has to let go of the ring to launch straigh up (it doesn't have to be pixel perfect, a few degrees above or under will still launch Rayman high enough to grab the next ring). I suspect most people's problem is that they let go 20-30 or more degrees above or under horizontal which will launch Rayman sideways, and not that much upwards since gravity affects him).

I have played this and other games as well on a second monitor (which had a little, but noticable input lag compared to my laptop's primary screen), and I have also played with the PS4 controller using Bluetooth (even more possibility for input lag), but they didn't really affect the gameplay, so I would think it's highly improbable that it's the problem (unless the TV is from the 90s with a TV cable that's been chewed by a dog  ). Also, it's possible to adjust to input lag by pressing buttons a few tenths earlier. ;)

Bluetooth can add input lag too if it's not wired, that tends to happen a lot, and it happened to me when I was trying to play Origins

I'm not even using Bluetooth anyway, just USB. :(

That's strange then, I'd only really expect input lag on the likes of Bluetooth.

I think it's probably the TV.

I haven't attempted this challenge myself, but since there's another week to go, I'll still try to make an attempt before it ends.

Same, but I don't look forward to the practice required to make Rayman fly straight up instead of everywhere.

Hi there. I have made a run on this level in the past.
https://youtu.be/qtV6TyOVBAU
I would like to submit it.
The editings were just start and end (before timer starts and after timer ends) to start and stop the video.
I never submitted a run using the configurations I use to record. So if there are issues, I would like to know!
It is an older run and maybe it's ok to submit it?
If not, that's fine too :).

Impressive time indeed! And yeah, it's perfectly fine to submit an older run.

Here is an updated run of mine and would like to update my submitted run in replacement of this.
Under 30 seconds ^^

I don't know if this is better an edit of my previous reply or own. I decided it's worth its own reply. If edit might be better, please tell me 😅

This one is special as now it has a proper guide in description and 2 new strats!

I decided to redo it to get my mind on other things and had motivation as it's for a little competition.

Idk why it shows me 2 different times at the end. I never understood this bug. Cheers c:

Yeah, it's better to create a new post if people have replied in the meantime.

Amazing performance by the way, though which time should we consider, 29.70 (clear time) or 29.55 (best time)? I suppose we should go for the one that appears on the menu screen, since that's what the others did. Anybody else got this bug, by the way?

The bug can happen at any challenge for me and there are few videos of mine having it.

I also have no idea how to add pictures on phone to a post. The picture option doesn't open gallery.

My game shows 29.55 as menu screen time.
I can show it to someone on another app or so xD.
Should have recorded menu. Will do next time the bug happens.

Thanks for kind word btw.

(edit: giving close up of menu. I didn't screenshot it so it looks weird.)

No worries, it makes sense that the one labeled as 'best time' is the one that appears on the menu. Should you need to add images to one of your posts, you can always tap the 'Attachments' tab under the 'Submit' button and you'll be able to add files to your post there. ;)

Sneaky option, will edit that.
Yeah it consistently shows the best time in menu.
