Thanks for all the details, nonnynonny! And welcome to this place, by the way. :D

RayWiki doesn't seem to have any information about this either, so your CD is all we have left. Put in other terms, you're our only hope, Obi-Wan Kenonny. :hap:

Ah that's nice to hear. I forgot that I had even replied to this thread, that's how long ago it was. Welcome to RPC, and thanks for providing this information!

I recently got a copy of this L'oreal Kids Rayman 2 edition. Like everyone suggests, it is the full game. Comparing the CD contents to that of the Rayman 2 that was released as part of the 10th Anniversary Collection, I can mention the following:
  • Newer timestamps on files (February 2002 compared to September 1999), even though most of the files are identical.
  • Included PDF manuals are identical (note that the original retail release did not have digital manuals, because it was usually sold in a big box with a physical booklet included).
  • Newer Acrobat Reader version included (4.05 instead of 3.01). The readme files were changed to reflect the different name of the installer.
  • A 4-byte sequence differs in Helic_30.sna (this is the Foutch boss level), at offset 8880F. I have no idea whether it has any significance - probably none.
  • The Tonic Trouble intro movie (TonicIntro.exe) has been removed.

That's great, thanks for sharing the results of the comparison, I guess we can add this information to the Rayman 2 page (Version differences section).

TBH, not sure it is worth mentioning there. That section is about meaningful gameplay differences between the various console ports. Minor changes in accompanying files between different releases on the same system feel like they are out of scope. Otherwise we could dig up tons more such small points, and end up littering that section with a whole lot of technical mumbo-jumbo.
