Re: Rayman Mini
I remember it saying in L'Histoire de Rayman that Rayman had a bigger home on mobile devices or something similar in the last chapter. I think that was mainly referring to Rayman Adventures which didn't really do that well anyway.
Btw, can anyone who has the game show which characters are available in the shop and their unlock requirements? Need this info for the wiki.

Re: Rayman Mini
That doesn't really make sense – they take place fully in the Glade and are the only major releases of this decade.

Re: Rayman Mini
I can see where he's coming from though; I would tend to consider them as a side series.
Re: Rayman Mini
Many people say that and their only reason for it is how they aren't 3D games. People count the first game as main series while being 2D, though I guess since the game adapted to 3D in 1999, then went back to 2D 12 years later, they do have a point.
There's no doubt the UbiArt games have great art and amazing gameplay, and I like them a lot. This is similar to GTA, where they had GTA 3, GTA Vice City, GTA San Andreas, and then GTA 4. My favourite GTA game is basically a side series one.

Re: Rayman Mini
Many of my favourite game series are side series/spin offs. Like Mario Kart, Mario Party, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, etc....
Sometimes side series games are great games in themselves. If the UbiArt games are side series, then they’re among my favorite side series.

Re: Rayman Mini
So I only found out today that although Apple Arcade is on Mac, Rayman Mini isn't. There goes Hackintosh out the window, along with my chances to ever play Rayman Mini, as I''ll never switch from an Android.

Re: Rayman Mini
Is there any reason why?
Re: Rayman Mini
Mainly that I'm so used to them at this stage. There are some little things that you can't do on iOS that you can on an Android. Not that they're a big deal, but I'm just so used to being able to use things like a file manager, Bluetooth, and NFC in ways that Apple for some reason don't allow users to. Another thing is taking a MicroSD, and also being able to transfer files without having to sync with iTunes.
They're not bad devices, especially the newer models from 6S onwards, but they're just not my cup of tea.

Re: Rayman Mini
There's still a chance it'll come to Mac. There's an image of it running on a Mac (see below) and new Apple Arcade games are still being ported as far as I know.
Re: Rayman Mini
I don't even happen to know anyone with a Mac to even start with a Hackintosh though, let alone get it to work with Ryzen. It's a lot of work when they could've released it on Android and I would have paid for it.
Still though, it would be nice for it to come to Mac instead of being iOS exclusive.

Re: Rayman Mini
That's too bad, I suppose. I have heard that Hackintoshes can be done on Mac but what's the point if Rayman Mini isn't on it? Hopefully from what Raycarrot said, the game will be available on Macs soon. The best outcome of course would be if they announce to release it on Android too.

Re: Rayman Mini
Do you think the game will come to Android? And if so, how many time do you think it will take? I need some "new" Rayman in my life and unfortunately I don't have any iOS dispositives.
EDIT: I've been researching and apparently Rayman Adventures took like 4 months to release on Android... so if we are lucky we will have it this Christmas if it comes faster than Adventures, which I hope.

I sincerely hope it comes to Android, let's all hope it does.

Re: Rayman Mini
This isn't the same situation as Adventures. Apple has an exclusivity deal With Ubisoft now. The only question is how long it is and if Ubisoft sees it as being worth it to port over the game. I hope they do, but since the game is free without any purchases they will have to make some major changes.
Re: Rayman Mini
All I take from Rayman Mini and the other mobile games is the realisation that the Ubi-Art installments of the franchise are such half-assed, cookie cutter, cash grabs that they can make dinky mobile games almost identical to what they are putting out on the immensely powered consoles we have today.
Look at Rayman one, what a game. the reason why alot of us are here. Ubi-art doesn't hold a candle to it
they said they want to go back and revisit 2d platformers. but only because the can now churn them out like no one's business with there new engine.
The ubi-art games are decent as random games but personally I don't consider them Rayman games.

Re: Rayman Mini
The console and PC versions of the UbiArt games are fine, they have their own charm even though they are a tad wacky, and have basically no story. There are the return of some enemies from Rayman 1 in Origins, such as the Livingstone and the Stone men, not to mention the Electoons returning too.
The mobile games though, I can see why people would be starting to get annoyed about UbiArt games, since they're making so many of them instead of us getting another Rayman game for PC and consoles. I still think it's better than nothing though, at least we know they haven't completely abandoned the series and stopped making games altogether.

Re: Rayman Mini
Nice, now non-Apple people may be able to play the game via Hackintoshes!

Re: Rayman Mini
I've never really looked into Hackintosh before. Can it be done in a virtual machine? Are there are good guides to set one up?
Edit: I've been going through the files and some interesting discoveries:
- The game is more or less a rom hack of Rayman Adventures. There are so many leftovers from that game I can't list them here.
- The game has 3 unused test levels. Two forest ones and another 20 000 Lums under the Sea themed.
- The game has text for an intro and ending which do not correspond with the trailer.
- There is no mention of upcoming levels or worlds. Also, no playable Teensies are in the files.
- A lot of console leftovers too. PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii U graphics.
