Master overall, has all the right answers. Carrot, Designer is not a main title. Plum, you and I, missed the blue elf. Another question!

9 Points - Carrot-master, PluMGMK
6 Points - Master
2 Points - RibShark, Fifo
1 Point - Ambidextroid, CHRdutch

Q31. (Please let this be final one). In order, list the power-up cans in which Rayman discovers in Rayman 3.

But the one answer Carrot had that you didn't had was incorrect.

Carrot-master wrote:Mr.Dark (can shrink in Rayman Designer).

Designer is not a main title, and since you didn't include that in your answer, you got it correct. I don't think it would be right to take the win away from Plum. But, you do have the power to overrule it of course. It should stay in my opinion as host.

Hmm, that's fair enough then. Alright, I'll send tings to Plum and I'll need to know if he plans to host Season 99.

Hmm, I was looking through all of the TTQ seasons, and I noticed that no one in it's history has yet to win 3 straight seasons he/she competed in, and host all 3 seasons after the wins. Going to shoot for that next season!

Good luck! And thanks guys!

I'll certainly try to host, but it remains to be seen how much free time I'll have in two weeks. I'm thinking I should have enough, so I'm saying I'll probably host.

Have a sign-up period where players register for the game, like the Mafia games of old. Given how members can also disappear, perhaps be flexible during first round and allow for new players to replace old. Afterwards, registrants only.

Ask questions over the course of a week, five per day, as normal. Correct answers give point to one team. At the end of the week, team with most points remains and split. Opposing team is eliminated. Bonus questions could give +3 points boost to correct team, but also would therefore have to be very challenging.

Since it's an anniversary, tings will be awarded in a different manner. Ting prizes will be awarded to winning teams at end of the rounds, but will also increase per round. (ie. Round 1 - 250 tings, 2 - 500 tings, 3 - 1000 tings and so on.

Eventually, there'll be two left to compete, as normal, for the ultimate win, at that point, it's traditional rules.

Ray502 wrote:< is getting very intrigued by it. A few questions and suggestions < would like to ask in standard way.

Would the winner of season 99 host it? Or you by default? Sounds dumb but it came to mind.
How many participants per team? Does it depend on how many sign up?
Suggestion: To improve the bonus questions, 2 points would be better than 3, just to extend the time of the competition.

EDIT: < would suggest taking this discussion over to TTQ topic.

The winner thing is something I was wondering about too. Selfish as it seems, given how different this would be, I'd rather do it myself for the sake of lessening potential confusion. That being said, I don't want to deprive anyone of their hosting rights, which was why I stated I'd rather do something like this in the case of a forfeit, or if I decided to participate and win.

As for the number of participants, I wasn't intending to have a limit in numbers, only a time limit for signing up. I envisioned two teams, but should there be a significant amount of members, I could allow for more than two. And then eliminate the lowest scoring until we have two, then continue with splitting when there's one team remaining.

Bear in mind that these are all just concepts in my head at this stage, I'm not sure if I will actually do this. If there's genuine interest, then I'll see what I can do. There's other issues to consider, such as accommodating the larger amount of questions, and the incident of running out of steam and repeating old ones.

Let's just say that, If I had won season 99, I wouldn't mind giving up my hosting chance. To be honest, this sounds more fun than hosting. Course, I have been hosting lately, which is probably the reason. You basically have to beat me and Carrot to win, unless someone snoops in and tries to win.

In my opinion, depending on how many sign up, there could be 2 per team or 3. You would have the power to put whoever on a certain team, mostly for fair competition. For example, if you put me, Carrot, and Plum on the same team, we would be unstoppable. So, fairness would indeed play a key part in the competition.

Maybe a poll would be best suited for this. The best way to decide if this proposal is interesting enough to go with it. I sure will vote for a yes. It could happen, I can see it now.

Aw, that's very kind of you, bear in mind that forfeiting hosting does mean forfeiting obtaining a special avvie, but if it was done for such a purpose, I think I'd try to persuade Humch to give it anyways. Giving up the right to allow for something experimental as this does deserve some recompense, I think.

As for team members, I probably would use RNG, but also split apart known good players. There is no point indeed if all the good 'uns dominate one team.

As for the poll, I would rather members physically voice their interest with this one. Polls are nice, but I feel that they don't necessarily translate to actual interest. If this does go ahead, I could also add an item to the Portal to advertise. But yes, I would like to hear whether this idea has the support of the community.

Yeah, I don't mind losing a special rank. I would be good if Hunch doesn't allow it, though I'm sure he will compromise since this will be a special season, and it would help to make it happen.

Agreed with using RNG. I originally would've proposed having a draft, where the 3 (or 2) best players from the past 10 seasons would be "captains." The captains would go one by one to randomly pick someone to be on their team til there is no one else that's signed up without a team.

Good by me. Also, this gives others time, since we still have season 99, that won't start in about 9 days. Plenty of time, poll wise and physical interest, to offer their thoughts about it all.

EDIT: Here's more, a shorter time limit, 10 hours, instead of a full day. Perhaps to increase the pace.

Re: TTQ: Season 99

I've been wondering about the question structure. Given how there is no maximum point win condition for each round, it'd mean that I'd end up having to ask 35 questions per week. That's the same amount of questions that are in a single normal season of the quiz.

At this point in time, I've hosted over 10% of all TTQ 2.0 seasons, and coming up with questions has become somewhat challenging. To this end, I've started compiling questions I've asked and put them into a database. I've got a total of 73 questions from what I've gathered thus far. Now, taking into account what I've said above, I'd run out of questions after a fortnight, or two rounds. That would make repeat questions an inevitability.

Given this situation, I'm wondering if I should reduce the questions down, as Ray502 has suggested, or alternatively, have a maximum point count which ends the round then and there. And as for repeat questions, the database tracks questions which have been used already, and thus I don't end up asking question I've asked before. I'm thinking I should reset the database at the end of each round. It'd mean repeat questions, but I feel it'd be better than exhausting the supply and having to run all over with each answer already known. I can always add new questions also, and indeed, I believe I have added items which I haven't used in quizzes, but have come up with before.

Note that you still have plenty of time with coming up new questions, so it's really no rush. The 4 questions a day change I offered didn't sound great, but if it's in term of an acceptable change, then let's act on that. Maybe the point count before a team eliminates another can be 10? 12? 15? Less?

Also, I need some clarification on what happens after the other teams have been eliminated. Do the players on the team that is still alive then go head to head to a certain point mark? I would assume so, since there would be disagreement on whether who will host season 101.

Bonus questions can be asked every other day, and would rather be 2 points for a correct answer. 3 might be one too many, especially if a team is dominating the other(s). And of course, be very, very difficult, compared to the standard questions. Even more hard than the standard bonus questions.

Now, there should a be limit of how many a team can answer correct. I propose that just like any other season, the team can answer two straight questions, then having to skip the next one. If the other(s) team runs out of time for one of the questions, the other team can answer, despite having answered two straight. After one player from the team answers a question correctly, he/she can't answer the next one, so the other teammates have to answer it.

Players are grouped into teams, at the end of a round, the lowest scoring team is eliminated. The remaining players are the resorted into new teams. This process continues until there's only two players left, who then compete in a final head to head round to determine an ultimate victor.

Bonus question will indeed have to be challenging, it will take quite a bit of thought, as I'm pretty sure most of the stuff that I considered obscure is on RayWiki these days.

Answer limits are a good idea indeed, but I was thinking keeping it to individuals as opposed to teams. I don't want a situation to end up where it's a back and forth sort of situation.

Ah, I see now. Sounds good to me. The final round should take place a day after the last two players remain, with confirmation that they are ready for the final round on that day.

Individuals sound better, and may even provide some strategy into who answers what, as well as level of activity. I see this starting to shape up nicely. But, there's really one important thing that's left up in the air, the level of interest from others. Have you promoted it yet on the portal page? I could also help in promoting it like putting some hook like message on my signature, and even a picture to get the members attention.

That's really all I have left in my mind. I guess now, see who has some level of interest in participating. When will you start the poll and allow sign-ups?

I'm not intending to run a poll on this, I want members to personally state their interest and also if they choose, their thoughts. It might sound a little controlling, but polls don't tend to show how many folks are willing to participate, mostly how many just agree with a concept. Given how this will be team based, if there's no interest in doing this, then there's no point me running a special edition as there'll be no contestants.

I will however, add an entry to the Portal to gauge interest, thanks for reminding me.
