I'm not saying I don't, I think Rayman 2 is my favourite game, but the UbiArt games have their own charm to them too. I still understand if some people aren't happy with them though, that's entirely their preference.

ya the lack of plot is lame but ngl i dont find myself minding that too much. if tehres a next 2d game i hope it does have some more story though

edit: one thing i just realised id like in a new ubiart game(not mobile) too is bribg back the world map but go absolutely feral with it. with branching paths and secrets kinda like mario world. thatd be neat i think!!

The UbiArt games are clearly about action and only action, fast-paced and non-stop. Think of all the mobile versions where you do nothing but run and jump. It's like Sonic the Hedgehog. A story would just get in the way.

I think the UbiArt titles have their own charm really, they're not really supposed to play like the other games.

Well, there's so much work put into some of the artwork and design, that it's a pity there's little incentive to stop and admire the view…

This is a fair point, the artwork in both games is pretty amazing, and both are unique. You really do be playing at such a high pace that you only get a chance to admire it in certain levels.

ya some levels have incredible background details but i never pay attention to them unless i specifically replay the level to do that
like in ray and the beanstalk you see some toads in the bg yelling at nothing before you meet them as actual enemies in the level. if you pay attention it like sets you up for their proper appearance
also its generally just really nice looking theres the two suns in the background too

This is really interesting: https://www.epicgames.com/store/en-US/p ... gends/home

Maybe this explains why the servers have been broken on PC.

I hope that's the reason, cuz the servers have been down for quite awhile now!

Anyone else think 20,000 Lums Under the Sea should of been the final area instead of Olympus Maximus? It feels much more like a final stage than Olympus, and the boss is more climactic than the one in Olympus in my opinion.

Not sure about this... The mecha-dragon is more climactic perhaps (and the music rocks too), but the black cloud of "ick" at the end of Olympus Maximus is like, 10 times harder.

*"should have"

I don't really know. I guess I never really questioned the ordering, since they were obviously trying to replicate the Forest  Airy  Foody  Ocean  Mountain progression from Origins, even if there was significant deviation from most of those themes.

I feel like finishing on the Greek myths, that I'd say a lot of westerners think of when they think "Legends", does in theory seem more satisfying than finishing on modern spy tales. But then they hardly developed the story enough to make that point really relevant, plus they stuck on a bunch of extra stuff at the end (Back to Origins and Living Dead Party)…

Since the servers are down, myself and RayCarrot have been making the most of the game, and trying to figure out how many times you actually need Murfy in each level, while using him the least amount of times possible. It's actually pretty fun. :P

Here's one example of getting around it.

Impressive! Never noticed you could trick those enemies like this.

I was trying to hold down while running and jumping, but just barely couldn't get over it. It was only then that I realised the tentacle claw kept getting in my way, and noticed it was following me further.

We can thank Ubisoft for having the servers down that we're finding these things out. :P

I'm currently making a video where I go through every level trying to use Murfy as little as possible. it's pretty impressive how much can be skipped actually!

Wow, I never knew those tentacles could keep going so far! I assumed they had a set maximum distance. Well, they're nightmares after all…

i actually did try to help a bit too. i just went through shields up and down and theoretically it should be possible to beat it without using murfy once if you have inhumane luck, as every fire column could be passed without taking damage if youre lucky enough. its super hard. and you do need some hearts to damage boost in certain sections!
if you try this please use murfy for parts you already know you can skip and have skipped. its the only way i could beat it and it still took me half an hour

I spent ages on What the Duck trying to see if it was possible to make any extra skips. It seems that What the Duck needed Murfy 24 times, and the previous 5 levels only needed him 15 times altogether. :P
