Oh, I definitely care very much about how I look, although mostly when I'm not home, lol. I feel super comfortable when I look cool enough for my liking and I always try to dress - or at least come off as - stylish. I wear mostly black, admittedly, but I absolutely love flannel shirts - my favourite ones are more colourful, like orange. I guess I just like whatever I feel the most badass in. 8)

Come to think of it I usually wear pretty much the same stuff every day. Navy trousers, a dark green beanie and a large shirt. If it's cold I'll wear a blue hoodie. Honestly the only thing that varies from day to day is my shirt and even then half of them are the exact same shade of heather grey with a different design on the front, everything else stays the exact same. Nothing I wear is vibrant, I much prefer to wear muted colours.

Not sure if that's because I don't like any other clothes or if I'm just a boring fart who hasn't tried anything else :oops2:

Same here, all similar colours. All grey tracksuit trousers and one dark grey pair. Grey just like our sky

Very much; I find customising my character exhilarating. I pretty much always have a dual-colour scheme going on, and I'll never leave the house if it isn't matching. I take forever in the shower and spend a while with my hair afterwards to get it just how I want it, often trying out something new. One of my friends at beauty school is passing on everything she knows to me about good makeup technique. I love it!!

Even at home, I've slowly begun to replace my hand-me-downs with the stylishly comfy. My current go-to is this long, tattered illuminati tank top with shorts. I also love wearing this hilariously awesome and weirdly stylish (in an urban way) white shirt with a stork on it Rulez got me for Christmas. :coeur:

I'm a lazy bugger. I put a bit more effort into my appearance than I used to, though not so much that I'd consider it to be significant. I only dress smart if I have to.

I just remembered I used to not care a whole lot about my appearance. My hair was not washed as much, I didn't brush my teeth as long, I wore undershirts often and I didn't exercise at least from time to time. Think it all began to change about 2 1/2 years ago. Oh and these days I like getting shoes with more variety of colors (black, red, white, blue) than just black.

I'm beginning to care about it a lot more now that I'm losing weight, it's opened a door to something I haven't really been able to explore before. I don't wanna go clothes shopping until I'm at my desired weight but I can't wait to drop the baggy shirts and autism jeans, I feel like seeing myself in anything but that would give me a good kick of confidence to stick to my diet.

If I'm home by myself then I don't really care too much though, I might do my hair just because it looks retarded but otherwise I keep my beard untrimmed and walk around in underwear and whatever.

Sounds like a normal Irish thing to do or maybe I'm just a lazy c**t

Anyway I went with option 2 as I feel like people should know but at the same time body shaming isn't a nice thing. I suppose it's commonsense to know obesity is bad but we all know that commonsense eludes some people. I'm not saying that to insult others though, I'm also partial to as the Irish would say "being a bit of an eejit" sometimes, suppose we're only hunan right

I read the article and couldn't find anything that was shaming anyone. One of the adverts is literally just the sentence "Obesity is a cause of cancer", I didn't even know this was the case before reading the article. It's not like it said "Being fat is bad", it's just stating a medical fact.
If body shaming includes simple PSAs like this, how else could you get the message across?

Actually now I'm not so sure. After reading it again I don't see any body shaming, but only people mentioning that it's wrong. I'm looking at it very differently now. Suppose it's like saying being an alcoholic is bad for your health and then alcoholics saying that's offensive right?

Edit: Nah I'm going with it's right. It doesn't look like anything's wrong after reading it again.

Body shaming is wrong for the same reason any other kind of shaming over a personal choice only affecting the individual is. You could look at it as justified if the shamer is coming at it the perspective of acknowledging how single-payer tax dollars are used to keep people who get sick off their weight alive, but I think it's a societal virtue to aid the sick no matter how they got there.

Is that ad bodyshaming? Hell no.

That's exactly where I'm coming from. If I say being an alcoholic is bad for someone, I'm not shaming them or saying that they aren't a nice person or anything, but just pointing out that it is in fact bad for them. That's similar to this as it's not singling out an individual, but spreading the news to try get the message across to obese people that don't understand the health risks of the situation.

There was nothing about that video that was bodyshaming, it was just stating medical facts, which personally I never knew about and I don't think I ever would have discovered on my own. Absolutely behind accepting it.

Reminding people what's best for them and their kids is completely fine, those ads are just giving advice and not ridiculing anyone. Ironically I think fat shaming was never really a big thing to begin with until the people who got assmad over the term started validating it, the only people I ever hear use it is obnoxious guys who keep going on unprovoked pre-defensive rants about how gay they think it is. I only knew about that ad campaign because all of them took to Twitter to complain about how it'll "probably" be labeled as fat shaming.

This is basically the context fat shaming is used in 90% of the time:

Yes, I'm still using the Barbara theme, by the magic of a four-liner GreaseMonkey script!
I got the idea for this week's poll a couple of weeks ago when sitting through project presentations, and noticing that most people used Sans-Serif fonts but some guys decided to use Times New Roman for whatever reason. Somehow in my half-asleep state I found it easier to focus on the words written in TNR, and I decided to note down this poll suggestion.

By the way, there are no more on the list after this one, so fresh suggestions would be welcome!
