But wow... that midi version on the pc/early steam version is awful.
I'd love to see a similarly fixed version of RE1 for the PC emerge; it'd easily be the best version if it weren't for the abysmal sound assets.

Currently playing Dragon Age: Inquisition. Already 35 hours into it, and it doesn't seem to have an end.
Internet says the truth sometimes: PC controls are very hard to handle and master. My brother is having way more fun with his PS pad while playing on the same platform as me.

I was playing Mario Galaxy 2, but I'm not sure if I'll continue, it's not as captivating as I had remembered.

1 was way better, far better designed levels imo. 2 just got a little gimmicky, not with Yoshi but it's new powerups were more or less kind of eh in comparison to one where they were actually great. Mario Galaxy is probably my favorite 3D Mario game, really fun playing through the game on Dolphin Emulator in HD. If anyone here owns a copy of Mario Galaxy 1 or 2. Download Dolphin emulator right away and play Galaxy 1 or 2 in HD, it is amazing.

Edit: I read that there exist mods for SMG2 so you're able to play fanmade Isle Delfino levels, oh shit I need to try this.

Actually I did think the cloud power-up was pretty good compared to the ones in 1. Instead of giving you a time limit, the clouds are based on resource. You only get three chances, so you have to think carefully about how you use them. The inclusion of the bee suit just kind of makes this redundant though as they do basically the same thing.

I actually liked a lot of stuff about 2 as well, the level designs actually challenge you in places, like the galaxy that has platforms that flip every time you spin. It plays against what the game has taught you; to use the spin as an aid to reach further platforms; and the clever placement of the flip platforms make it tempting to use the spin when it would kill you, and vice-versa, making a challenging level that keeps messing with you.

I noticed there are also many examples of things that teach vital elements to you in-game by making you perform them yourself instead of just showing you, which makes it much easier to remember and much more satisfying, as if you've worked out how to do it instead of following instructions.

Also the cosmic Marios. If I remember correctly, in SMG1 they just race you to the end, and it's basically just redundant as it could be a time trial instead. In SMG2 they follow closely behind you, causing you to think differently and play some levels completely differently, as you have to always avoid them whilst planning each next step.

I remember enjoying SMG2 more than 1 when I first played the games actually, it's just that now it doesn't seem to feel the same. It might just be that I'm not in the mood for it, but hopefully I'll be able to enjoy both games again.

Heh, such great PC shooters. (Playing on PC, right?)
I've yet to play Payday 2 but I'm really getting a lot into that online competitive shooter genre, I really love Left 4 Dead so I was hoping to get more into those type of games.

Either way my AMD card is fucked. I'm so sick of AMD's bullshit. I'm going to move to the Nvidia brand when I have the money.

CS:S on glorious 60 FPS (I have CS:GO on not-so-glorious 1 FPS in PS3 (yeesh, why are consoles so damn underpowered for this game?!) ) And Payday 2 is being played at 1 FPS in PS3.
PC is best.

Hmm, Black Mesa just debuted on Steam Early Access, it's £14.99. They've not finished it yet, hence why it's Early Access, but if it's even better than the free mod they released in 2012, I'd be inclined to give it a shot whenever possible.

I thought STEAM was removing paid mods? :P
Kidding, of course. Black Mesa looks awesome, I've played it before but I would totally support this newer version. Is anyone else also amazed this fan project made its way to the STEAM store? Goes to show fan projects can be a very good thing at times (Take notes, Nintendo.)
