I’m not playing bc of that meme I’m playing because it’s been a long time since I’ve tried to actually play. Someday I hope I can make good play through videos like Haruka does. But I haven’t the slightest idea how to film my own play through a with a camera. My friend mentioned twitch to me though? Hmm..

Took me forever as I played one level at a time and kept taking breaks for hours.

I only took two breaks in between, that's how I got so far so quickly.

I just started Far Cry 5, and it's phenomenal - I'd hands-down label it as one of the most immersive, dynamic open-world games I've ever played. Everything people criticised Ubisoft for milking it absent here, or re-considered from the ground-up. The mechanics as a whole, especially the AI, are so finely crafted that every random encounter feels like an elegantly scripted setpiece; I've especially never seen NPCs feel so incredibly life-like in how they respond to even the most obscure situations which would look downright awkward in any other game. The amount of effort they put into this is absolutely incredible… and the environment and graphics are beyond stunning.

I'm playing on Hard with almost all HUD elements disabled, and I feel like I'm actually running around doing everything I'm doing in the game in real life, it's crazy. I love it so much when I've found myself just playing around in a game for five hours straight, then realising I've only explored a tiny section of a district, and then realising that there are a bunch of them, and every location feels so real and organic. The environment is also extremely nostalgic for me, since when I was young, we used to drive all over the West coast of the US and the Canadian/American prairies for my dad's work, Montana included.

One more thing worthy of note is its non-linear approach to storytelling. I know this has been done before, but it never seemed to be the de-facto route for anything trying to appeal to the "normie" public. Far Cry, Assassin's Creed and GTA have always relied on a linear series of missions which, while fine, I think should be shaken up a bit like they did here. I'm using the word again, but it feels so organic here.

Other people's experiences may vary of course - no, they will - but I think the fact I'm playing on Hard with no HUD elements except for the compass really adds to the experience, and it plays really well like that. I haven't done it myself, but I feel like review sites giving it merely "good" scores on average were probably blitzing through it on Normal, disregarding what the game really has to offer. I mean, it has a 9/10 from user reviews on Steam, which is a legitimately rare thing to see from a AAA Ubisoft sequel game being judged by a bunch of hipsters.

---

A little late on this one, but I got into League of Legends in February with a couple friends, and I love it. I'm really getting into the flow of things and already have a mastery level 7 on Nami at level 23, which is apparently really hard to accomplish for a support character… according to the Gold-3 player who introduced me to the game.

Not sure if you have said so before, but are you interested in getting high scores on the levels?

Sometimes yes. Sometimes no. When I said that I was only playing for the nostalgia. After TLOTLD, that's when I started practicing trying for high scores. The Desert of the Knaaren onwards, I am not as good with scoring high, especially in the Hoodlum Headquarters. And I would like to submit my own score to the Rayman 3 Hall of Fame sometime, though I am still unsure whether it is ok to use an emulator when going for the highest score I can reach?

I'm not sure about that. I haven't heard of anything where using an emulator is not permitted. Better post in the Rayman 3 scores topic and ask the other scorers, they should know if there is an advantage gained for playing on an emulator.

Went back to Breath of The Wild so I could complete the two DLC's that I never finished.

Trial of the Sword was amazing, and in my opinion, the better of the two DLC. A lot of the criticisms I've had for the main game in BOTW are not here. There aren't really any puzzles here perse, but it's essentially a survival mode. Even on beginner, you have to be extremely careful. I absolutely loved how hard this DLC was, any type of carelessness would send you back all the way to the beginning and you had to pay close attention to your hearts. It's essentially one big handicap as you have a bunch of restrictions to make it incredibly difficult, and again, I love that! You have to find the best way to approach situations and you can try to be very clever about it such as being stealthy, or just go blazing in. I usually tried to cheap out enemy AI, lol.

Champions Ballad was more or less, fairly good. You basically travel all over Hyrule to learn more backstory about the fallen champions with a series of new shrines that are unlocked through various means. One thing I wasn't a huge fan of in this DLC was the same rinse and repeat formula that went on for a while. A lot of the new shrines are so excellently designed though, shame it still uses the exact same aesthetic as the original 120. The neo/matrix blue color gets real tiring after a while. Also not to mentioned there are a lot of forced gyroscope control puzzles in these new dungeons that made me want to off myself :tssk: . Anywho after beating all the shrines you're actually given one final dungeon to complete, and I found the dungeon to just be okay at best, nothing too special. Also a new boss at the end that would be pretty fucking cool if the game didn't allow you to cheap it out using the champion abilities (which are now even more overpowered.) Otherwise, I would say Champions Ballad was good, but due to the champions abilities still carrying over, it makes the rematch boss fights with the Divine Beast bosses to be so jokingly easy, even with the limitations. I only played around with the motorcycle a little bit, which you unlock for beating the DLC, and it's pretty fun to mess around with.

Overall, I more so just wanted to finish Breath of The Wild out of obligation, but playing through these DLC's did help to remind me of BOTW's strong points. I did feel that the overall game was a bit overrated. and far from my favorite Zelda, but it still has some really fun gameplay. I just wish the developers would've took more notes from Trial of The Sword, as the game was way too easy.

After setting up my PS2 again, I decided to revisit the original Ratchet and Clank game after 6 years, and while not being my favorite game in the series(that honor goes to R&C3), and having some problems like imprecise controls and a somewhat clichéd plot, it's still a really solid game and with a much more open ended structure and a harder difficulty in comparison to the later games.

I never had the chance to talk about it in the forums, but the Ratchet games have always been some of my favorite games on the PS2, I also played most of the PS3 games, but I don't revisit them as much as the original trilogy and Gladiator/Deadlocked.

You should! They're both great games, although Ratchet 2 is another one I did not revisit for a very long time.
