Childhood toys
Everyone here surely had toys in the childhood, and this topic might bring some memories to older members.
So, what were your toys? Did you had a favourite? Game consoles/computers do not compt by the way. You can talk about childhood games too.
Well, I remember to play in recess with marbles, card games (normal and PKMN TCG) with friends, doing rope jumping, playing with tops that had ropes to spin, playing with board games like checkers, 4-in-line (not sure if this is the English name), MIKADO...
I also had a fever with LEGOs, these were my favourite toys, coming plushies next.

Re: Childhood toys
LEGO EXO-FORCE, Robosapien V2, My toy cars, Transformers, Megasketcher, MiniMax.
There are probably a lot more I played with as a kid, but those are the one's which are in my head.

LEGO and plushies. I ripped off a Donald Duck plushie's hat to wear it at the time. Silly times.
Re: Childhood toys
I have a Pinky Pie plushie from My Little Pony, an one and only Bratz doll Sasha, many different of the Winx Club dolls, a Interstellar Princess Comet doll, a pack of the dough of PlayDoh 50th Anniversary colors, My Little Pony dolls and such more. Also i have a fever of the art tools for kids.

Re: Childhood toys
I happen to have a certain... distaste about LEGO because their "simplicity" killed the Polish importer of K'NEX, which was (is?) way superior in my opinion.

Re: Childhood toys
I used LEGO, though I was never too big on it. Ever since I was a toddler, my mom took my brother and I to Denny's every week on Saturday mornings, and they gave out "zoobdudes," another form of construction toy, and also a bit of K'NEX. I also loved Hotwheels. I'd build them all over the house and in people's way, everywhere. Along with everything else, I loved Thomas the Tank Engine, and I bought all the trains/tracks. I used to be obsessed with trains, and I always wanted to ride the Royal Hudson, which I eventually did.
Re: Childhood toys
Mainly Pokemon, Scalextrics and LEGO, but I also used to collect conkers and take part in conker-smashing tournaments (guess I'm alone on this one ).

Ah I didn't think of it, but I also used Scalextrics. I wouldn't consider Pokemon to be categorized as toys, but while mentioned, I played Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh! card games with my brother all the time.Xenon wrote:Mainly Pokemon, Scalextrics and LEGO, but I also used to collect conkers and take part in conker-smashing tournaments (guess I'm alone on this one ).

I used to collect PKMN Tazos! (The name we had here for the Pogs)Tobbe wrote:Am I the only one who's old enough to remember Pogs?
I still have the collection I menaged to gather, even some repeated ones. I guess they are relics now knowing the huge popularity that these had at the time where Pokémon was a worldwide fever.
Re: Childhood toys
I still have some in a cupboard somewhere. No Pokémon Pogs, though, as the Pog fad was over long before Pokémon became popular here.

Re: Childhood toys
Hate? I was flabbergasted. Do you know how much I've always wanted a Rayman figurine? The only Rayman toy I have is the fridge magnet that came with Rayman Forever.

Re: Childhood toys
Cildhood toys?
Well that's quite a few things actually, including a shitload of plushy dolls from pokémon, sailor moon (which I still have in my room orz), digimon, sooty, power puff girls, and TY plushies. There was also all my video games and such, my digital pocket pikachu, my collection of polly pockets and that odd barbie girl I had which I wasn't too completely interested in.
