Compiling is a different thing, especially if Ray502 isn't able to use GMS.

Correct I don't have GMS, I do believe there is a fee to pay to get the standard version.
gamerz31w, I wrote some code, but all game scripts and other code were written by Multimagyar, the creator and early programmer of the game engine.

GMS Standard is free, however you are required to have the splash screen on.

Minor news: MrMcMelonLord is currently compiling and reprogramming the entirety of the game in need of removing any obsolete coding using GMS. Estimated date of completion is late October to early November. Once completed, I will get GMS Standard and test it out and if necessary, make some minor changes to gameplay.

So a couple of weeks ago I decided to do some cleaning up on this game to kill time. Well I did a little bit more than that. The game has been updated to version 2.00. The following is a list of changes that have been made.
  • *Major overhaul to the game's music system - The music no longer loads all at once when the game starts up; instead the specific song(s) only load when it's supposed to play. This should wipe out the memory leaks/crashes.

    *Many levels have either been altered or shortened to increase performance and speed. This causes few cages and Yellow Lums to be in different locations.

    *Hills in the Sky has been removed due to poor level design. The 55 Lums that appeared in that level have been moved to the Dark Cavern of Nightmares.

    *Some assets from Rayman 2: The Alternate Side have been added; some original assets have been replaced in effect (example: life statues).

    *If Rayman revisits the Dark Cavern of Nightmares, he will go back to the hub after the third phase instead of fighting Jano again.

    *Some Laser-Washing Powders have been removed.

    *Now the Heavy Metal Fist and Shock Rocket power-ups will deal more damage to Robo-Pirates/Guards.

    *A small amount of Green Lums have either been moved or removed because of the level design changes.

    *Globox no longer makes those repetitive walking sounds. He will still make that waiting sound but less frequent.

    *The thunder system has been improved.

    *Grammar fixes have been made.

    *The credits have been updated and improved.

    *Other, more minor level design improvements have been made.

    *Fixed some sound glitches.

    *Fixed a couple of bugs that caused Rayman to go through two solid barriers.

    *Fixed a glitch that resulted in the cage count not being set back to 0 after collecting a Lum element.

    *Fixed a bug that caused Rayman to repeatedly die after losing all health from purchasing the permanent Big Power.

    *Fixed a bug that caused a scrapped in-game cutscene to appear in the Canopy.

    *Fixed some bugs involving Globox.

    *Removed a stone man that sometimes caused the game to crash.

    *Fixed a couple of glitches involving trophies in the minigames section.

    *Fixed a bug that caused Rayman to not get hurt from the purple Robo-Pirates.

    *Other, more minor bugs and glitches have been fixed.

To run the game correctly, open the downloaded zip file and replace the old data folder with the new one. Then move the .exe to the same location the data folder is.

I heard about this fanmade game few months ago via a Rayman fan made Discord group, but couldn't find any download link to it on Google.
Has this game been discontinued perhaps?

The creator of it left the community over a year ago and hasn't been heard from since, so there's a high possibility that it's been discontinued unfortunately.
