I was already planning to get a PS3 and now that I've discovered the Tales series I need one badly. I'm definitely going to get Symphonia, as well as the later games. I'm pretty interested in what kind of reviews Zestiria will get, I hope the story is as gorgeous as the graphics. :D

Me too! I have a legit copy of Final Fantasy 8 for the PS1.
I absolutely love those games! (well, mostly FF5-10, with FF9 being my favourite game ever). I recommend playing the original FF creator's more recent games (Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, The Last Story). They have a lot of the same magic. :)

What games are you currently playing?

Post by Reese Riverson »

While we are working on recovering the previous thread, we may resume discussion here.

I've been playing a bit of Minecraft lately, though I recently got Grim Fandango Remastered and may give it a go. See how it compares with the original. :)

Tried to play Rayman 3 today to come up with some questions for the quiz, but it was glitched to hell, barely any surfaces showed up. It was the gog version running on windows 7 through VMware, I'll try it through actual bootcamp next time

Hmm, it sounds like the common TnL problem. If you go to ubi.ini and set it to 0, it should take care of it.

Wouldn't it also depend on how well virtual machines can even give 3D graphics support?

VMWare's is very good I think, though it depends on the host drivers. I don't see any reason why any Mac driver would be poorly supported though.
Not sure how well the Mac version of Wine works, but Wine is what I use to play Rayman 3 and it works very well (has to be an old version though for some reason).

- The reason the original thread disappeared was my fault, I was attempting to remove all of that flooding spambot HermanJat's posts this morning and I somehow accidentally deleted the entire thread. An attempt is being made to recover it from a backup on Romano's server, so while we likely will be able to recover almost all of it, I sincerely apologise ahead of time for what posts may be lost.

What a game! I never had a console in the N64 days, but I got it on XBLA. It's far better than Mario 64 if you ask me

I totaly agree - More charming characters, funnier levels and a better soundtrack than the Mario game in my opinion :3
In my opinion the soundtracks from Banjo Kazooie / Tooie are the best ones from all video games :D

Completely awesome music, I still hum the Gruntilda's Lair theme from time to time

And I love the fact that you keep learning new powers through the whole game, keeps it interesting

I'm also very surprised.

Meh, I never really jumped into the 5th gen train, and so I never really owned a PS1 or N64.. I just had the Rayman games from PS1 which I played on my past PS2 and that's really all that I got to know from the 5th gen :/
Also, looking at the N64, it just doesn't seem to be my cup of tea, I mean, the controller looks just.... meh...

The first time I touched an N64 was year 5 at the after school club. Every week it was Goldeneye and every week I sucked. That's pretty much the sum of my first-hand 5th gen experience (not counting playing PS1 games on the PS2 etc), so I get where emsh is coming from

Wait, no, the first time was year 2 at a friends party playing a Rugrats game, which changes ~everything~.

I just saw the N64 in stores, fleamarkets and in a friend's house, but I never got the chance to play with it unlike the PS1, which I indeed got to play with it with my cousine many years ago

Hmm, I've had 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th gen consoles. (The bulk being Playstations and one or two Nintendo consoles). Still not very impressed by the PS4, in all honesty. Though my brother enjoys it, so I guess it has its lot.
