I can ensure you it wasn't because of that that Ubisoft would convince me to buy Academy of Champions.Bradandez wrote:But, but but wait! You can also play as Rayman too!

While talking about that game, I just found a picture of Rayman kicking or keeping the ball, not sure if anybody saw this before:

I've seen it before, but thanks for sharing. His eyelids are weird there, he even doesn't have eyebrows.Miss-Cerasus wrote:While talking about that game, I just found a picture of Rayman kicking or keeping the ball, not sure if anybody saw this before:

She looks amazing! I love all this artwork, I don't think I've seen Rayman portrayed better ever before!

Re: Some great stuff for the 20th anniversary (?)
So it's been a while, but I figured I'd check in to see if there was any news on the 20th Anniversary, but I've got to ask, what's with all the recent hate on Origins/Legends? Last time I was here, everybody loved those games. Yeah, the story's lacking. A lot. But the gameplay is a lot of fun, and the visuals are stunning. I'm worried that if Rayman 4 is actually ever released, you'd still find something to complain about.
Also, is no one allowed to have an opinion here? It seems like anyone mentions what they'd like to see for the anniversary, someone comes and shuts them down. "You're not allowed to hope for another Rayman 2 port. Smash Bros DLC? Are you insane? Let me explain to you how stupid your idea is in the following wall of text." Nobody knows for sure what's going to happen, so why hate on people for guessing?
Also, hi. It's been a while.

I love those games. They're my all time favorites. Everyone here's being a prude about them. They anticipate the fall of UbiArt while I stand on a hill afar, smiling knowing it will never come.
About the Rayman 2 port, yeah I started that trend because we don't need a port. A remake would be better suited. And Smash DLC, yeah Sabertooth andDandy are the only jerkwads here. They don't want Rayman in seeing as the state of his franchise is unsuitable in their eyes. What a joke.
Also hey. Welcome back.

Personally I think Ubiart is one of the best things to come out of Ubisoft in a long while. Origins, Legends and Child of Light are some of my all time favorite games.
And I'd have to agree about the port. Rayman 2 is a great game, but it's been way overdone.

Re: Some great stuff for the 20th anniversary (?)
I loved Child of Light and Origins/Legends with the Ubiart, but I think it's time for a 3D game (I'm not saying I hate the 2D or Ubiart games).
About Rayman 2, I don't want another port, if they give us Rayman 2 (again) I hope it's a remake.
And about the Smash DLC, please, I want Rayman in it, but we'll have to wait and be patient to the results of the ballot.
I didn't know you, but welcome back.

I agree with you guys; I love the Ubi-art games! They've so far proved to be really great fantastical titles that quite frankly deserve more exposure (especially Child of Light). I think the only complaints I have (regarding the rayman titles) is that Murphy never felt properly intergrated during single player.

Yeah, definitely. Origins/Legends were great, but a new 3D game is long overdue. I don't want to get my hopes up for it, so I'm not too disappointed if it's never announced.
Also thanks. Good to be back.

Re: Some great stuff for the 20th anniversary (?)
I really enjoyed Origins, especially some of the later levels with falling platforms that you have to navigate, it looked so stunning. To be honest I think the speed element in RO was fantastic as well, they managed to make a game that did a much better job at feeling fast and smooth than any Sonic game ever has in my opinion.
Rayman Legends I'm not a fan of. I haven't managed to make it very far because I just don't see the point. In RO the environments were fantastic and they all connected to make one big adventure, and I really felt immersed in the beautiful world. In RL however, it just seemed like a cluster of randomly styled levels one after the other and I couldn't remember any story at all to be immersed with. Yeah it looks amazing, but immersive art is nothing without immersive gameplay.
An example of what I'm talking about is when you unlock Barbara. I thought, seeing the trailer, that she was actually important to the story or something and you'd unlock her in a way that ties into the gameplay, but instead you just randomly unlock her after some random level with no explination...
Anyway, I personally think I've have had enough of Ubiart. You can only do so much with the exact same engine, and to be honest RL felt just like RO in the same way New SMB. felt just like New SMB. 2 for me. Now they've come out with Rayman Adventures, and the first review I read said it was basically just "Rayman Legends on iPad" or so something along those lines, but it didn't sound like there was anything new. Maybe if they come out with another RO-level-of-good Ubiart game then I'd be all good, but I kind of doubt they will.
I also doubt they'll come out with a new 3-D Rayman game as much as I want one, but I think in the newer generations Rayman is seen as an Ubiart game, and there are probably not as many people who've played the older 3-D titles and therefore not as much appreciation for a new 3-D game.

Eggghh, the AOC Rayman does not look good, with those amorphous eyeballs and all.

So this is the "surprise" for Rayman's 20th anniversary.

Mmm, if it's not a game, I wonder what it is...
