I definitely agree that Spyro is a 3D game at heart, but unfortunately publishers like Activision don't seem to want to risk making traditional 3D Platformers as they don't see them being financially viable in today's market. It's why Rayman is primarily 2D now; it's more cost efficient and cheap to make 2D games (generally) so there's not as much of a financial risk if it flops. If then a 3D Spyro game isn't on Activision's mind due to financial reasons, I'd happily settle for a 2D game that retains as many elements from the glory days of Spyro.

Really? I remember liking Ty 1 back in the day but it's never stuck to me nor have I felt the urge to revisit it. Overall I think it's a really likable game, but not anything more significant than just another title of the early 00's platformer-with-talking-animals trend. It always struck me as one of those games that was executed well but not really rich enough in content to create a legit mascot.

It's partially nostalgia that makes me remember it so fondly, as Ty 1 was one of the first games I owned. I even played it so much that I marathoned it when I -briefly- had the swine flu. It's worth pointing out that the final segments of the game are seriously trippy when you have that bad a flu
