to be fair, when I attempted for 101.299, I always had the feeling that 6 hits are absolutely possible, the timeframe is just unforgivingly short. Comparing this to the 4 heckler hits in HH2, it always made the impression that I missed the 4th hit only by a split second, but to me it also was pretty obvious that this particular timeframe is just too short. But I got the 101k on a way worse computer than my current and my previous machine, and since I haven't done any further attempts on this (well, why would I) I can't confirm that this is also a question of performance as the Heckler in HH2 is.

Cut wrote: I mean, there are a couple of videos of the triple-hit in BOM5 and my success-rate on this one hasn't been affected by those videos also because I don't really gain valuable information from there.
MandM's video: Razoff jumps before he's hit for the first time. After he lands, he gets hit one more time before the cutscene starts.

DTUCC's video: Razoff jumps before he's hit for the first time. After he lands, he gets hit one more time before the cutscene starts.

1234's video: Razoff jumps before he's hit for the first time. After he lands, he gets hit one more time before the cutscene starts.

I came to the following conclusion: If Razoff is hit while on the ground, all the in-game options will be disabled and he will start running away, leading to the cutscene. If he's hit while in the air however, he can't run away (because, how would he run in the air?) which is why the cutscene won't be triggered in this case. So the triple hit works because you hit him twice in the air, then once on the ground. Same story with the quadruple hit, the only difference being that basically frame-perfect play allows for a third hit to connect in the air.

That's just my theory, but it's supported by 2 facts: One, the videos all show that Razoff is hit before he jumps (and it would be weird if all the successful recordings of the triple hit just randomly had one thing in common) and two, I tried to get a garantueed Single-Glitch by sending one curved shot and one straight shot at him; I could never get it though, supporting the point of all in-game options getting disabled after hitting Razoff on the ground (a.k.a., even a fist already on its way couldn't do anything to him anymore).

Now that might be wrong, and granted, even if it wasn't you normally couldn't do anything about it because you'd have to predict when Razoff's gonna jump (sadly, human reaction time is not sufficient for frame-perfect plays if you can't predict the timing), but if one was playing in slow-motion then maybe this Glitch could be exploited consistently.

One thing, having Razoff jump sideways after grabbing the last Yellow Gem is problematic, sometimes he just stands there and shoots at you constantly, which means your combo timer will run out. I've made several saves before starting the combo - if I get bad timing and Razoff doesn't want to jump sideways after I grab the last yellow gem, I reload to before I started the combo and wait for a better moment. If I get good timing and Razoff jumps sideways, I make a new quicksave in another slot after grabbing the last yellow gem.

Second thing, I've been practicing with trying to do triple glitch, and it's hard to get the right timing to approach Razoff before he jumps to the side. If you approach him too early, instead of jumping sideways, he will smack you with his gun, which ruins the combo. If you approach him too late, you won't be able to even to a double glitch. This is when quicksaves come in handy - I can reload as many times I need to approach Razoff at an optimal moment.

Third thing, even if I manage to approach him at the perfect moment, I still can't hit him fast enough to do a triple glitch. I've made a quicksave just before approaching Razoff, and I've tried it for several hours already. I've experimented with two situations: when he jumps towards me, and when he jumps away from me. It's easier to do double glitch if he jumps towards you, because it shortens the distance your fists need to travel, which makes them return to Rayman quicker. This is why I believe that if someone attemps to do a triple glitch, Razoff needs to jump towards Rayman.

I don't know if it's a console-related issue. It might be related to RNG as well - if I reload the same quicksave over and over, RNG doesn't change. Which could mean that restarting the level might create a different RNG environment, which could affect performing the triple glitch. Also I have a theory that PCSX2 emulator actually plays the game "better" than original PS2, which could make the triple glitch harder to perform on emulator.

I'll probably give this glitch another chance, but I want to take a few days break from it.

The holiday’s well over and I’ve used the time since then to capture the missing points in order to pass the limit. As promised I’ll post screenshots of all levels and a small comment to each level.

I haven’t had the time to make videos in HH yet. I will eventually do that.

The Fairy Council
This score hasn’t changed since I last visited the level about four or five years ago. I’ll revisit the level at some point.

Clearleaf Forest
It’s not the maximum score, but I’m ok with it. By my calculations I can get about 300 points more. A recent walkthrough can be found on page 1 in this thread.

The Bog of Murk
I have no new strategy to improve the score besides hitting Razoff six times in the last part. I haven’t played this level for ages but despite my limited optimism I should probably take a closer look at it one more time.

The Land of the Livid dead
This level is another one which I haven’t visited for a long time. Obviously I can improve my score here.

The Desert of the Knaaren
I will play this level again and try to pick up some more points. I don’t have any motivation for playing it though.

The Longest Shortcut
Again a level where I haven’t set a limbless foot in a long time. There’ll be a few hundred points to pick up, but the Shoe race is too annoying for me to try.

The Summit beyond the Clouds
It has been suggested many times in this thread that there are quite a few points to pick up from looking into Kickflips. As can be seen on this video made by 1234 repeated Kickflips can be found almost anywhere. There are also a few mentioned in this thread that are not shown on the video. A starting point would be to get a few thousand points in combo from such a repeated Kickflip area. Then one can improve to three thousand and so on. And then one can try to combine two or more repeated Kickflip areas into one combo.

Hoodlum Headquarters
This is a recent improvement. The walkthrough can be found on page 1 in this thread and the final combo is explained one or two pages ago. I’m about 300 points short of an Xbox maximum.

The Tower of the Leptys
This is my most recent improvement and one I’m particularly happy with. Not only did it take me over the 900k limit, but I succeeded for the second time only in combining two groups of Hoodflyers to a combo of 49 Hoodflyers and thus reaching the Hoodflyer maximum (for Xbox). The walkthrough for the Hoodflyer maximum can be found on page 1 in this thread.

Congratulations on passing 900k! :partyhat: That´s truly amazing. Besides that, many thanks for revealing your scores. I hope everyone is fine with that now.
I don´t know, whether your current score in SBTC is improvable or not, but if you got the known maximum in each other level, your score might be about 908k points, so you´re quite close to it.

In the last weeks/months i sadly didn´t have much time, but i hope, that soon i´ll be able to continue (and finish) the investigations in LOTLD and furthermore pass 50k in FC.
As for now i can only upload a video about the preparations in LOTLD part 1 (At some points the video is quite laggy). As you can see i kicked also one turtle to the last room in order to be able to jump to the level with the piggybanks. However i´m still not sure, whether you can keep the combo alive so long. I think the best way would be to take the gem at the entrance, then break the first piggybank, jump on the turtle, break the second piggybank at the highest point of the jump, climb up and take the 6 gems. I´ll try to make it possible soon.

While looking in my R3-video-folder, i found some older videos, which show some glitches. Most of the glitches occured randomly, while i was playing. I´ve made one video out of it and uploaded it as well. Probably it isn´t useful for scoring, but in case someone´s interested ...
Some random glitches (a little bit more information can be found in the video description)

Thanks! There's still something to go for in a few levels, especially FC, LOTLD and DOTK. I can't imagine I would play BoM or LS for the current maximum scores.

It's improvable as you always will be able to get an extra Kickflip. It's probably your patience that sets the limit.

The current non-IPG max scores should be

FC: 50.500 (this is just an estimate)
CF: 121.850 (my best strategy)
BoM: 101.299
LOTLD: 122.619
DOTK: 111.329 (with the Lums Glitch and 12 Lums. It will never happen though)
LS: 43.220 (could be more)
SBTC: 133.729 (could be more)
HH: 115.649 (Xbox maximum - no Heckler in combo in part 2 - with the Lums Glitch. With the Heckler + Lums Glitch the maximum is 116.269)
TOTL: 105.819

The total is 906k points. How do you arrive at 908k points?

It will be interesting to see what you get out of LOTLD part 1. As I read it, you start the combo with the Gem at the entrance and continue with the Pigs above. Will you proceed with the Hoodblasters near the Cage, and will they actually be there? Or will you fall down to take the Hoodstylers below?

If my calculations are right, you can get 52540 points in FC, although it´s incredibly hard. For example the first matuvu combo in part 4 requires a SJ during the combo. Most of this kind of combos Lance made possible, like:
Part 3: 4-Matuvu-combo
Part 3: Piggybank-combo (take the vortex, perform a SJ on the bridge, helicopter to the piggybank room, take everything with the powerup)
Part 4: First Matuvu Combo (take a yellow gem on the platform with the 5 gems, roll off, kill the hoodblaster in combo, perform a SJ, take both single gems, jump on the vine, continue with the rest)
I think the other combos you should probably know, but to be at the same level i´ll post a complete overview about the points in this level below.

As far as i know the hoodblasters near the cage will only appear, when you kill the 3 hoodstyler below, but i´m not completely sure.
Anyway, the idea is the following (the parts of the combos, which i have to test yet, are put in brackets):
You take the gem at the entrance, continue with the piggybanks (and the six gems above), fall down, kill the 3 hoodstyler, kill the hoodstormer (without taking any gem before), get the vortex, take the near gems, lower the mushroom, get the following gems, kill both hoodblaster near the cage, (take the gem at the entrance of the secret room) and finish the combo with the remaining gem near the bubble.

Ideas for improvements:
- Part 2, Dwarf Combo: Get everything in the first room and the three gems on the mushrooms in one single combo, for instance by starting with those three gems, rolling off and breaking a dwarf before the combo-time will run out. (+50 points)

Notes:
- In the GC-version the maximum should be lower, because of the missing vortex in the last room in part 4.
- In the PC-version the first matuvu combo in part 4 doesn´t necessarily work, because you probably can´t jump on the vines in this combo.
- With the mentioned improvements the maximum would be 52660 points.
- If someone can see an error in this overview or if it´s incomplete, please tell me, so that i can fix it.

(Edit: Part 4, Fairy Hole Combo: Following combo is most likely possible: Get the vortex from the last room, perform this glitch and start the combo equipped with a powerup. Get 5 items (worth 20 points each) before killing the slapdash. (+110 points → Maximum: 52650 points))

Ok, I can see I left out some of Lance’s discoveries. I have a few comments.

Part 2.
I see you manage to include all Yellow Gems in the second area into the Matuvu Combo. Have you made this work, or is it a theoretical combo? I suppose you start in the hallway leading to the last area and work your way toward the Trampolines? Then you turn anti clockwise and work your way around the area. Then you arrive at a crucial stage where you have to connect the combo with the two Yellow Gems on the Trunk. If you can do that (I never could) then the rest is trivial.

Part 3.
I didn’t include the fourth Matuvu in my estimate. I tried it for about ten minutes and while I can easily see the last Matuvu through the floor, it is the transport time from the previous Yellow Gem to the Look Mode spot on the floor that is the obstacle. I wonder if it can be done in real time?

Part 4.
I have no issue with using an SJ in the middle of a combo. I did that in the final combo in HH3. I haven’t tried it in FC4 though.

Also, I haven’t tried the SSJ that is required in reaching the top floor near the second Matuvu. Can you make that work?

Part 2: Yes, that´s how the combo works. The problem is, that i also never could get those two gems on the trunk in time; actually i was quite far from doing that. The reason why i still mentioned this in the overview is, because Lance apparently succeeded in this combo, so i assumed it´s possible. Here is the quote:
Lance wrote:240 points improvement in FC1 (ridiculously impossibly hard, not recommended):

After getting hands, go into the tunnel, grab the 1st and 2nd Gem, then get the 2 Gems on the far-off mushrooms, then get the 3rd Gem outside the tunnel. Quickly jump on the side of the smallest mushroom without grabbing the Gem. Roll off, quickly get to the trampolines, and roll into the 2nd trampoline to grab the Gem floating in the air. This is ridiculously hard, took me about 500 retries on emulator. After that, grab the Gem on the left side, then grab the Gem on the right trampoline. Continue along the path to collect 3 more Gems, fall down and collect 3 Gems on small mushrooms. Grab the 1st Gem on the bridge, strafe around the 2nd one, then go for the 2 Gems on the wood. This also took me about 500 retries. After that, fall down, collect 3 Yellow Gems, then 3 Red Gems, then 5 more Yellow Gems, Matuvu, Red Gem.
Part 3: I had exactly the same problem when i tried it for a few minutes, so i can´t guarantee you, that you can get the matuvu like this in real time. However Lance said it could be done, so i trusted him and included it in the overview. That was his original quote:
Lance wrote:Yes, it can be done if you use Ribshark's trick to enter Look-Mode instantly. Basically, all you have to do is strafe around the last Yellow Gem, so you can grab it while running 2 steps forward, then activate Photo Mode by pressing Select (this works on PS2, should work on Xbox too), hold the button responsible for Look-Mode while still being in Photo Mode, then press Select again to return to normal play. You should be in Look-Mode instantly, now just move camera down to capture the last Matuvu.

Only thing you need to practice is the exact location from where the 4th Matuvu is targetable. It aproximately takes 2 steps from the Yellow Gem. Matuvu can be targeted from the ledge near the wall (but closer to the ledge than the wall). You move about 2 steps alongside this ledge, facing the direction of the piggy room.
Part 4: Unfortunately i´m still not able to make it work. While it is quite easy to reach the top floor when the "globox-platform" (where the hoodblaster stood) is in a good position, i still can´t perform this SJ and reach the top floor when the platform is in the needed position (i.e. when the front of the platform is facing the exit of the room).
However Cut and Lance succeeded in it, so i assume it can be done. Probably i just need to be patient and try out different angles and different spots.

By the way, assuming the Matuvu Combo in part 2 and the 4 Matuvu Combo in part 3 can´t be done in real time, the maximum would decrease by 240 + 1000 points; that means the maximum in this level would be 51300, i think; and the overall score would be ~907k.

What will actually be the next level, you´ll try to improve? Or will you investigate some levels first to find a new maximum?

Hey, thanks 1234 for quoting me on FC level.
Regarding the 4 Matuvu combo, it is possible and I've managed to do it on emulator: >>video<<.
I believe the maximum in FC is 52650 (that's what I managed to get). The combos posted by 1234 are mostly accurate. The biggest point increase is thanks to the 4 Matuvu Combo, although I'm not sure if it's doable on all platforms. I played on PS2 emulator, and you need to use the Select-Trick to enter look-mode instantly to be able to target the Matuvu fast enough. It's ridiculously hard - once I figured out the exact position from which the Matuvu is accessable, it still took me 50 retries (with slowdown) to get that Matuvu in a combo.

I have to say that I'm impressed by people who have enough time and patience to do those hard combos on real consoles. If it weren't for savestates on emulator, I would probably give up after reaching 600-700k if I played on real console.

There are a lot of points to be made in CF - if you combine literally everything from the map with green gem, and the map inside the stronghold, you can get a maximum of 139769 points. Of course this requires IPG, so some people won't probably touch that combo. Also, did I mention it's ridiculously hard? Took me 2 days with savestates to complete that combo.

Great score in FC; 52650 points is really much. How did you actually get this score? In the overview i calculated 52540 points and the only improvements i could imagine are:
- part 2: Improved Dwarf Combo (First room + 3 Yellow gems on the mushrooms in one single combo)
- part 4: Improved Fairy Hole Combo (Start the combo equipped with a powerup)
- part 4: Improved Beginning (Make one combo out of the First Matuvu Combo and the Matuvu-Tribelle Combo)
- part 3: Some really crazy stuff in this part with yet undiscovered glitches
Except of that i can´t really imagine anything else (Actually the last two mentioned improvements are already too unlikely).

By the way, did you succeed in the razoff triple glitch meanwhile? If so, in what level are you now?

I haven't played R3 since BoM, can't find the time nor patience to play the game. No, I gave up on the Triple Razoff glitch.
In FC I did a few things to improve my score:
- in FC2, I did the Matuvu Combo by starting with the Yellow Gems in the tunnel, then gems on the mushroom, then gems on the trampoline, then bridge, then fall down and do the usual stuff. It requires pretty much frame-perfect movement, so it's definitely impossible to do on real console (getting to trampoline in time took me ages, then getting all coins on the bridge took me even longer).
- in FC3, I did the 4 Matuvu Combo, then equipped the power-up and did ESJ to reach the piggy room and collected everything in the piggy room with power-up.
- in FC4, I used the power-up from last room to enter fairy room, using the glitch shown in that video.

I don't remember the exact combos, and I can't find any motivation to draw the combos anymore.

Congratulations, MandM! I never thought of a 900k+ score as something that'd once be achieved, but if someone had to do it that'd have been you. Thanks also for posting your scores, I hope that'll make the atmosphere of the thread more pleasant so that we can focus on scoring instead of petty arguments.

I'm going to update the wiki with the latest scores now, but would you be so kind as to point me to the most up-to-date solutions for each level (if any)? I think RayWiki could be a great asset for scorers too, unfortunately it's clearly lacking in that regard as of now. :)

I also wanted to add that I find Lance's way of playing very interesting: removing the frustration seems to have allowed him to make awesome discoveries that could prove very beneficial for the whole scoring community.

@Hunchman, I think a Video Database of Rayman 3 would be a great solution for the RayWiki, since we don't have a source like that yet and it's just the easiest way to document Rayman 3 Combos. Much better than writing solutions, just from an effort-perspective.

@MandM, congratulations for 900k and thank you for making screenshots. I figured it had to be SBTC, so at least my sense for improvements is still somewhat working, even though I'm not really going to figure out what exactly you did :P
I'm also a lot more interested in HH3, since if I should ever pick up Rayman 3, I'm most likely trying to improve HH. SBTC would be a what, 23k? improvement, but it's rather a mean of farming points which I don't feel like investing my time into since racking up points at this point isn't really what I'm aiming for. I mostly enjoy exploring, putting thoughts into parts and combos etc., but even on that I'd have to pick up again after a long time. Which could not happen :(

The IPG combos in HH1 are still a huge mess though, if anything I at least have to clear up that

EDIT: 2 years ago I wanted to initiate a project to write a nice "final solution" for Rayman 3. Including a nice design and tons of extra information, so that everyone could print it out to have a lasting memento of Rayman 3. I only finished HH, and of course it's in german but if enough people show interest and commitment into such a project, it could happen.
