Re: Rayman Adventures
Played two levels. Apart from the microtransactions, the game is pretty nice. I don't think I will play more than these two levels though. Maybe I would have if it was on console, because I feel that the controls are too busy. I actually preferred the simple controls Jungle Run and Fiesta Run had over this constant swiping. I think even an on-screen joystick and buttons would be better for this type of game, intrusive though it may be.

You're all welcome here as refugees from the Ubisoft oppression anyway.

Re: Rayman Adventures
Played through the first two levels and As much as I hate the fact that its free to wait, the micro transactions fo seem to be optional, if you want you can just play levels. Even though its optional though the micro transactions are optimal, there is a clear, almost pay 2 win advantage to using the creatures. I pretty much agree eith droolie that if the game were on console It would probably be more enjoyable, not as a full game but maybe a small 10$ download title.
Also the fact that basic, classic, default Rayman, is a skin locked behind a paywall fucking infuriates me, its just a small thing but I think that skin should be free, same with basic Barbara.
In short, it doesn't look like this game is going to change my mind that mobile gaming is the worst thing to happen to the gaming industry. Its a fine game, but the business model is still scummy as balls and exploitative as hell. As angry ss I am classic Ray is a skin you buy, if Ubisoft had faith in their product and the only microtransactions werea cosmetic based, i would probably be gappuer with it.

Also, the game now teases The Dojo as an upcoming world as seen in the trailer. Seems like it will get regular updates which is always nice

When you look at Globox, and the Teensies silhouette, it looks like their wearing different outfits as well.buildersith wrote:Played through the first two levels and As much as I hate the fact that its free to wait, the micro transactions fo seem to be optional, if you want you can just play levels. Hey PC how does the game run on your Android devices? On my Moto G it's a bit choppy. :s

My Moto G's kinda choppy also, but from what I've played, it's not as bad as Fiesta Run was.

Re: Rayman Adventures
If anyones interested. I did some maths to see how much the skins cost if you want aol of them and dont earn the gems by beating levels, I dont know the prices for other regions so these are all in GBP. Also I doubt it that thete are differences between the android prices and the iphone prices, but these are all from the less satanic of the two betsions, Android.
First off two assassin's creed skins are exclusive to the starter pack which costs £3.99 with it being 60% off for the first week of release. And will be £9.99 from next week onwards. The starter pack does also contain like 50 food, 20 speed up elixirs for hagching eggs and 550 gems.
The individual skins ave different costs depending on the skin because Ubisoft says so, so Ill make this quick. And all the following prices are the cost after the starter pack discount is removed.
All The Rayman skins at their cheapest will cost £49.98
All The Barbara skins at their cheapest will cost £94.97
All the skins currently into the game will come to a total cost of £134.96 OR 6 copies of Rayman Legends, a game that has all but 3 of yhe skins in adventures forfree, on PS4 from PSN with roughly £10 change still in pocket. Oh dear.
To be fair though this is all cosmetic bullshit, I still think £134 is WAY WAY too much and that price will only go up from here on out., but its not the end of the eorld, its not Dungeon keeper mobile, not yet.
Im waiting for elixers to become available for purchase, because that'll be were the real bullshitery is hiding.

Re: Rayman Adventures
Okay, so it seems you can't buy food anymore for creatures. You can only ask for food through friends or watch a video, which you can't yet. That is such horseshit. You could buy food before with gems, but now the option is gone entirely. What were they thinking? What if I don't have friends? How the hell am I supposed to get more food?

Re: Rayman Adventures
Make friends! Rayman Adventures isn't only good for your entertainment, but your social life!
In all seriousness though, I'm enjoying Rayman Adventures for the most part, but there are definitely pitfalls from the mobile space creeping in.
You can't revisit levels, once you complete and leave an area, that's it. So if you make the mistake of not doing a perfect run while you're in an area, tough. While the touch controls are reasonably responsive, they're incredibly fiddly for me. There are times where I'd like to simply attack, or manoeuvre, but end up doing a jumble thanks to the way they're mapped to tapping and swiping. I'm going to see if I can get my DS4 working on it, because I don't think the touch controls are very precise.
The levels themselves are pretty decent, with three categories, searching for Teensies, collecting Lums or defeating Enemies. There's more of a sense of variety compared to Jungle and Fiesta run in terms of what you're meant to do, which makes things somewhat more interesting. Personally, from what I've played thus far, I think the exploration levels work best, as they don't require the frantic and on-spot control that the Lum runs or Enemy levels can do. Assets-wise, I don't think I've seen anything particularly new, most of the stuff looks pretty similar to Legends, kinda disappointed, seeing as Fiesta Run already did that. Music is also from Legends, though I did hear some sections to existing tracks that I haven't heard before, would it be possible to rip the music from the game and confirm?
Finally, we have the microtransactions. It's certainly not the worst amongst the apps for suckling your wallet via in-app purchases, but it's still very much present and played in the usual way. Want a certain item? Buy it with ingame currency that will take some time to get, or screw waiting and start giving us the real monies. What's worse is that they do employ the wait or pay scheme. Once you collect an egg, you cannot collect another until its hatched, so if you've finished an area and can claim another egg, you're in limbo 'til the current egg hatches...or pay monies and get the egg to hatch instantly!
Needless to say, Adventure's is a good game, but mobile gaming is seeped within itself.

Not being able to revisit will be the least of your problems later on as you'll have to replay level you've already completed before just to get more creatures. It can get quite repetitive after a while!Master wrote: You can't revisit levels, once you complete and leave an area, that's it. Well, fuck me. I need to update on iOS8
Re: Rayman Adventures
I don't like controls at all. On-screen joystick and buttons would be much superior. I did tell that to Mya and I think she passed suggestion to team. Let's hope in future update they will add it as second controls option in settings.Drolpiraat wrote:Played two levels. Apart from the microtransactions, the game is pretty nice. Re: Rayman Adventures
Theres s greyed out option in the settings menu ca lled pad controls, tapping it will say "coming soon" so gamepad support is coming, but of course you need to waste your money on a tablet gamepad.OCG wrote:I don't like controls at all. Frankly the game should never have been on tablet to begin with, and only is to justify the f2p model, if your game is going to suffer greatly because of the platform you want to eevelop it on. DON'T DEVELOP IT FOR THAT BLOODY PLATFORM.
I unlocked access to buy lucky tickets and elixirs, I was surpised the only way to get speed up elixirs was lucky tickets, or you could just speed it up by paying 30 gems whilst an egg is in an incubator, which is probably the best way to go about it. But if you do want speed elixirs then theres an random element to it ON TOP OF the inherent randomness of the eggs which is... ugh.
The gameplay is good enough, the business model kills it for me, kills it well and truly.if this is were Rayman as a franchise is going, then its time to take it out the back and put it out of its misery.
God thats depressing.
Re: Rayman Adventures
I hope if many people download Rayman Adventures on Android and iOS, that Ubisoft gives us a reworked version of it for PC and consoles.
Re: Rayman Adventures
So, the game is exactly what I expected it to be, a GO Launcher EX like app, anyway I won't try it because of few reasons :
Smartphone dead.
Heavy.
Ads.
Pay to play.
Not available on F-Droid.

Re: Rayman Adventures
I can't really see the game working well on consoles, though maybe handheld ones like Vita would work. A PC port would be great and that might happen as both Jungle and Fiesta run have PC ports (though only on Win 8 and 10
)
Overall I like the game quite a lot though it's a bit disappointing that it's a free game and that this it basically it. Jungle Run was great s it came out with Origins. Fiesta Run came with Legends. Then just came Adventures by it self...

Re: Rayman Adventures
They release on free to start Rayman mobile game. We must overreact and panic. It's truly the death of Rayman!
Also, OCG, virtual joysticks suck. No game that had them are good. They flat out suck and I'm glad Adventures doesn't have that horrible control scheme.

Re: Rayman Adventures
When I started Rayman Adventures for the first time, my phone started downloading a file called "bundleonboardingadv3_android.ipk".
I guess Brad was right about this game being adware.
