In all seriousness, Japanese people are very serious, respecting their culture and values they are thought. I mean, we are talking about people that often commit suicide if they fail final exam in school because they think they are failure.
The only time when they are not fully honest is if someone is asking them some question regarding regular things. They usually answer what they think other side wants to hear and not how they think.
