Hmm, these figures can have other smaller figures plug into 'em.

How very Phantoka.

I didn't mind the Phantoka too much, though I don't like how it means folks need to get 2 sets in order to get the complete thing. Granted, the creatures are pretty much the equivalent to last year's Protectors, but even so, they weren't quite as integral.

I just got my hands on the new sets today, they are amazing. There isn't much depth to the creatures in the storyline yet. For now, they are just things that you plug to the backs of the toas. I hope they get a little bit more explanation in the future. Nevertheless the combinations look pretty nifty.

Returning back to the LEGO fever last year made me take a crazy decision: to complete the Mata Nui arc collection of sets that I did not manage to do in my childhood. Some sets are hidden behind others but I have got all of them, with the exception of the Manas that are already purchased but will receive them in hands in the month of July! It still feels surreal to see this finished as some sets seemed impossible to find nowadays due to its cost/rarity factors but I am very happy :D.

I got Ikir a few days ago and I like the simple wing-flap mechanism. The claws are are articulated nicely too so he can grab things. Will get Tahu next month. :)

Looks like Bionicle's going back to CGI completely: Wait, that's actually a new Netflix series.

Also, here's a comparison between the 2015 and 2016 sets:

So Bionicle is back now? Awesome I guess, it's been a decade since my last Bionicle purchase which was a black Visorak.

I have two Toas from the second generation, 5 Rahkshi with everything, an additional Kraata set, 2 of those insect like things with the "catapult head" (xD) and a black Visorak.

(checks Bionicle wiki for names)
Sooo...

Turahk, Guurahk, Lerahk, Panrahk, Kurahk
Tahu Nuva, Pohatu Nuva
Lehvak-kal, Pahrak-kal
Oohnorak

Things have been rather quiet on the Bionicle front, didn't a second wave launch during the summer period last year? Wonder why nothing seems to have been announced this time?

Hmm, maybe they ran out of ideas or still working on new ones.

Though really, does seem rather odd.

The new Summer wave is going to pop out starting this month and it will feature Umarak's mutation, few elemental beasts and what it seems an upgraded Ekimu. The Netflix series should have its premiére next month I believe.

Yeah, you'd be surprised how many programmes are being produced solely for Netflix, I know a popular one that many folk talk about is the Daredevil series.

Which, come to think of it too, now, there is a new Full House series on Netflix, but I never did bother to subscribe to watch anything still.

It is with sadness that I share this: http://www.lego.com/en-us/bionicle/newsboard

Its lifespan was way shorter than what I expected. LEGO did not reveal the reasons for the decision but I suspect the selling numbers were much lower than what they expected. It was also a disaster in the marketing department which was the complete opposite of its original generation.

So this means I have slightly more than half of the Generation 2 collection. Oh well, I guess it is going to be treasured along with the others.

RIP, BIONICLE reboot.

PS: I still need to watch the last two episodes to see how this ends.

Wow, only two years, big shame. It took 3 years for the original line before the Nuva were introduced, if memory serves, which was also the end of the original arc. Pity they didn't get that far.

It's sad, but better not cry over it too much. At least Lego showed us their love and we got a chanse to show them our love. :mryellow:
We got a glimpse of the third year story in the last two episodes of the Netflix series.
