From what <'s seen, it could've been so much more, but the final thing is still pretty fun. It's a pity they've not tried again, but < has been following the UniverSim, which seems to be working on a similar premise.Ambidextroid wrote:< has wanted to revisit spore again for a while, < heard it got bad reviews but <'s always found it fun

There's DarkSpore, but < only remembers hearing about its announcement and then never hearing from it againMaster wrote:From what <'s seen, it could've been so much more, but the final thing is still pretty fun. Re: The You Game!
DarkSpore was a topdown RPG, the only similarity with Spore was that it had a creature editor, and even that was nowhere near as featured as Spore's. < tried out the beta for it a while back, < didn't like it. It's dead anyways, since it was an always online game, and the online was taken down.Ambidextroid wrote:There's DarkSpore, but < only remembers hearing about its announcement and then never hearing from it againMaster wrote:From what <'s seen, it could've been so much more, but the final thing is still pretty fun. < has that fine feeling where you start something and do a good chunk of it but you're not really sure if what you've done is all good or not

Re: The You Game!
< wonders what it is that ^ is attempting
< is designing a puzzle box that uses one of those rotary combination padlocks. On the top of the box is a wooden disc which is connected to the lock's dial, and surrounding it is another rotatable disk with runes around the inner circumference and a compass design around the outer edge. When you line the compass up correctly with a picture of the sun on the box according to a riddle, the inner runes also become aligned correctly and can be used to input a code using the central dial. The shackle of the lock pops open which pushes a block of wood like a latch and opens the compartment. Ta-dah!
< could add some other little bits and bobs like sliding faces, but < doubts < would ever build it as < doesn't have any tools or materials, so the design will just collect dust in a corner like many of <'s other random unfinished mechanical endeavors.
