Speaking about microwaves, < once did this:

< remembers when < accidentally left a spoon in a cup when heating up some milk in the microwave to make hot chocolate

I place the cup in the microwave, not realising the teaspoon is still there
I turn the microwave on
After a couple of seconds, the spoon starts arcing
I turn it off quickly*
I open the door and remove the spoon

* I was scared I would damage the microwave!
