Re: The You Game!
Ah yes, A Level CS involves a big project, doesn't it?
< has quite a few regrets when it comes to <'s A Levels, but <'s glad that chapter of <'s life is in the past. Though < doesn't particularly enjoy having to bring <'s A Level work back out for <'s job applications. What <'s ultimately saying is, try not to slack off too much.

Re: The You Game!
Unfortunately <'s not doing a CS A Level as they don't offer it at <'s school, though <'s encouraged to know that not a lot do so they don't expect one when applying for uni.Master wrote:Ah yes, A Level CS involves a big project, doesn't it?
< would have liked to do one though, considering the vast majority of <'s work at the moment centres around maths which is a subject < isn't too keen on.
Re: The You Game!
< feels a bit hungry from all that animating.
Snack is now ruined thanks to <'s douchy father.

Re: The You Game!
Huh, <'d have thought it'd be more popular, especially given how programming is supposed to be more "in" these days. Guess our education managing overlords haven't made as much progress as <'d hoped.Ambidextroid wrote:Unfortunately <'s not doing a CS A Level as they don't offer it at <'s school, though <'s encouraged to know that not a lot do so they don't expect one when applying for uni.Master wrote:Ah yes, A Level CS involves a big project, doesn't it?

< heard that <'s high school actually has a major problem with trying to find people who will teach computing since the department is just 1 person

Re: The You Game!
Isn't this the same cadre of politicians who pushed the Snooper's Charter, which if taken to the letter would outlaw programmable computers in the first place?
< is not in a great mood today.

Yup, Tories. < recalls The Thick of It once parodying their efforts to come across as tech friendly.

Re: The You Game!
< misremembered <'s timetable and missed a lecture, which in itself isn't a big deal, but it contributed to a feeling of being crushed by <'s own stupidity.
Re: The You Game!
< is on a roll with <'s little assignments.
Some of them are soon finished.
The bus was not early today. < did not like that.
<'s father made a little stash placement for <'s snacks. Kinda cool.

<'s finally managed to fix <'s connectivity issues with <'s PC, which can now get +40Mbps. < has to have <'s whole PC slanted at 45° to get a good wireless connection, and changing the angle even by less than 5° pushes the speed down to less than 10Mbps. < resorted to laying a big piece of duct tape on <'s carpet to mark where < has to line <'s PC up to get good signal

< wonders if < could model that, considering how < has been wrestling with results derived from Maxwell's equations for the last few days.Ambidextroid wrote:<'s finally managed to fix <'s connectivity issues with <'s PC, which can now get +40Mbps.
