Ah yes, that Rayman in Tings! The same thing occurs in the PC version but i think the word in Tings is "GREAT" instead of "RAYMAN", so that was pretty neat for me.
Other than that the game is just too easy for me now. Sure I still lose lives but not nearly as much as back then. I prefer the PS1 version definitely, though I also like the PC version too.
I think you'd really only find the game hard the first time. Just like Origins, I'd die a lot of times but I still wouldn't even be close to using a continue at this stage. I must actually play it again but I want to finish Origins first and still have non Rayman games I want to play too
Agggh! I can't seem to finish the first level of Picture World. I hope this isn't a dumb glitch. I just soooo badly want to beat Rayman. I hope I can beat it soon. Because I dont wanna break my GBA like:
Well Picture City can be a bit of a challenge if you're new to the game, I won't lie about that. All of those drawing pins and the timing of all those jumps take a while to get used to. I'm used to them now so I'm sure after you complete it once it will become much easier.

Well, I can't seem to finish the first level of Band Land and could never get to that part where those brown ball things make a circle, contract and then stretch out. I am very patient and everything and also very determined, but I just gave up playing this game because it's just so hard for me and I knew that it wouldn't be worth it.
I like that "RAYMAN" Tings secret though, that's pretty cool. How does it appear in the PS1 version though, does it appear spelling out the word "GREAT" like the PC version or what?
I wouldn't get angry about a level and let it get the better of me. I like Picture City tbh and Eat At Joe's. Those are 2 worlds/levels I remember playing when I was only about 9 years old (I think it was Eraser Plains on Picture City)
Also as Plum said, they're not there and are a PC exclusive which the GBA is a port of.
I don't find Picture City that hard anymore after playing the game a few times this year. I still get killed a lot of times on a playthrough but it's the same in Origins / Legends. The last time I played the game though I did get killed 6 times on Eat At Joe's part 6, but I blame that on it being NTSC since the spikes were placed lower and I was used to the PAL version
Once you get past Picture city, Rayman is pretty easy *if* you broke all the cages. If not you would have to go through Picture City again and the other worlds. I didn't find eat at Joe's to be too hard. Usually it's just the 2nk, 3rd and 4th world that gives me any trouble, although I think I mastered bongo hills in Band Land, I can get through it without dieing once at times.
A lot of people find Band Land hard but it actually gets really easy after some practice along with the rest of the game. A lot of the game relies on memory really in the harder stages.

Don't give up, you can do it! Just need patience and practice on those levels and sooner or later it will become MUCH easier.

I mean, they’re tough as hell.

Not worth it?? You guys give up way too easily, if I'm being frank you guys sound like quitters! No offense. Finishing a game for the first time that you like playing is ALMOST ALWAYS worth it in my book! When I finished Rayman 1 on PS1 the first time, it felt SO good, like The Top Of the World good! What I'm saying is, just because you couldn't get past one level multiple times doesn't mean you should give up. That's what patience, practice, and determination is for, which is why I find it ironic that Aaron gave up on the game.
Okay, I need to clarify, it is something dumb that is in the game that makes me want to quit. Actually, I'll explain the situation. Btw Band Land isn't too hard. But I do find it challenging. So, you go to this slope, if you're little Rayman, gravity makes you fall faster. If you are the normal Rayman, it makes it easier to jump and glide across. So... I accept Normal Rayman and continue. But when I try to go to the end, there is a small spot. And guess what that requires you to be? Little Rayman. So now I was confused like is there suppose to be any of these magic bugs that make you Little Rayman again? No. There was not any bug. Btw, I call it a bug because I didn't buy the actual box with the Instruction Manual. So now I was screwed. I actually tried going back using my hair going back but the leap was too far and Rayman's gravity was crazy so I died either way. So there you have it. If someone can tell me there is an exit or something, please tell me. Because I'm pretty sure it might be one of those things in one of the Band Land levels where you think it's somewhere to go but later on... it's a power-up! Please help!
I'm with Jonster here that you should never give up on a game. No matter how challenging, you can do it if you believe you can. I personally never give up just because a game is hard, in fact it usually draws me into playing it even more.
Are you talking about part 1 of band land where you get the cage? You can crawl if that's the part you mean and the idea is to keep the momentum and make it to the left and clouds will appear. The top cloud leads you to a cage. You duck to keep the momentum (speed) and make the jump easily.
That's just an assumption if that's the part you mean.

Could you clarify on this a little more? I know it's Band Land but I'm not sure what stage or phase you're on.
Btw, the "bugs" are called flying blue elves/reducers.
lol I was talking about a person saying Band Land was hard. I'm currently on Picture City. The level is called "Eraser Plains".

Is the part you described on the level shown at 34:31 in this video? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jw1_MeAlK2s If yes I know how to get passed it. Or is it on Bongo Hills?
Gosh diddly dangity dang dang this game is hard. I did beat Moskito last night, but it took me like five lives to memorize his pattern!
Also, would you guys recommend basically steamrolling through the game while breaking just the crates I find and then coming back to the levels and searching through them more accurately to unlock every other crate?
NINJA EDIT: I'm shivering at the thought of going through Band Land again.
