Re: Rayman 1
If there is, I don't know about it. It's not so annoying that I'd go out of my way looking for a way to disable it tbh.

Re: Rayman 1
Yeah I know, I’m just merely thinking is all.
It only bothered me the first few times, along with the fact that my keys also seemed like they were stuck as they kept switching between stay and quit and sometimes I would accidentally quit the level.

Re: Rayman 1
Yeah, to disable it you just have to git gud
Nah seriously though you can't disable it and I personally only see it seldomly like on LOTLD I did. On my first playthrough I seen it a lot and they are cheeky bastards

Re: Rayman 1
Oh, it happens in Rayman Junior too? That's interesting....PluMGMK wrote: Sat Oct 27, 2018 8:04 pm I hate that "STAY here" message. So cheeky… What business is it of Murfy's how difficult I'm finding the level??
Of course they had something similar in Rayman Junior, which was the first game I played. If you ever lost all your lives you'd be booted back to the world map, where the Magician would have some supposedly-encouraging phrase, of which I guess the most similar to that Murfy one was "Ouch! That hurts, doesn't it? Well, don't let Mister Dark get the better of you!"
And they also had something similarly annoying/disturbing to that message in Rayman Origins in Rayman Fiesta Run where if you'd die a couple of times, after a while it would say something about using a particular powerup but it wouldn't show up as frequently as Origins' "Yikes, this place is really dangerous..." message.
That message makes me think that I suck at the game every time I see it though.

Re: Rayman 1
Yeah that’s happened to me too and for me it’s mostly because I had to restart due to me not getting all the lums.
It reminds me of those kinds of games where if you fail enough times then you get a large handicap that helps you finish the level.

Speaking of Rayman Junior, have you tried all 3 levels of difficulty? I don’t know if it’s just me or not but I think that there are a couple differences in each level aside from the questions/trials themselves.PluMGMK wrote: Sat Oct 27, 2018 8:04 pm I hate that "STAY here" message. Re: Rayman 1
I wonder if you're struggling with the harder level of difficulty in Junior?
I haven't played Junior and probably wouldn't bother playing it now tbh. Maybe I should have played that when I was 8 along with Rayman 1 (which I was playing at that age).

Re: Rayman 1
I've played Volumes 1 and 3. Volume 2 was something I'd have liked, just to get a complete picture, but when I asked "Santa" for it I ended up with Rayman 2 instead. The Jonster wrote: Sat Oct 27, 2018 8:51 pmSpeaking of Rayman Junior, have you tried all 3 levels of difficulty? That's like how I decided to play Volume 1 the day after I completed my very last exam for my degree, then proceeded to fail at one of the challenges.Steo wrote: Sat Oct 27, 2018 8:54 pm I wonder if you're struggling with the harder level of difficulty in Junior?
I think Humch struggled with Rayman 1 as a child, and then was able to complete it after playing Rayman Junior!Steo wrote: Sat Oct 27, 2018 8:54 pmI haven't played Junior and probably wouldn't bother playing it now tbh. Re: Rayman 1
I won't lie that I clearly struggled at Rayman 1 back then and I don't think I ever cleared it without cheats until revisiting it recently. You can't blame an 8 year old for struggling with a game like that though
I did play it a lot still though.

Yeah you’re right about that, it kinda caught my interest a bit when I played recently.PluMGMK wrote: Sat Oct 27, 2018 8:56 pmI've played Volumes 1 and 3. That way if someone's played a lower one they have something new in the higher one, and they can't guess the answers due to the map layouts.

Guess I learn something new about people every day I guess.
Re: Rayman 1
What's interesting though is that I don't get that message as frequently anymore as I used to in Desert of Dijiridoos (that yikes message) though I still die a lot. Especially in the Tricky Treasure level of Sea of Serendipity, that was hard too. If I were to give it another go it would probably be easier for me though, so while it's designed around dying a lot because of the frequent checkpoints and unlimited lives like Steo said, you also have to practice, improve your skill, get used to the layout of the levels, where things are and what things do etc. but that's how it works with every game.

Re: Rayman 1
I agree with that, if I played through Origins again this time I definitely won’t find it as hard and much easier. I think like you just need to keep practicing and never give up and eventually you can do it. Anything is possible if you put your mind to it and focus! Those are very wise words indeed.Aaron wrote: Sat Oct 27, 2018 9:12 pm What's interesting though is that I don't get that message as frequently anymore as I used to in Desert of Dijiridoos (that yikes message) though I still die a lot. Speaking of which I’m curious but which phase in Bongo Hills did you have trouble with?
Re: Rayman 1
To be honest though I do still die a lot when I play Rayman Origins and I won't lie about that. I also die on purpose a lot due to missing something ant there's no restart sequence option like in Legends. Yeah the game is designed with multiple failures in mind but the frequent checkpoints make it easy. If it was a case of restarting the entire level then it would be a very tough game. I wonder if they should have added a Hardcore Mode where that actually happens. I'd give it a go

Re: Rayman 1
By any chance are you talking about the part after the 2 green moths were you have to walk on the bongos and jump from cloud to cloud?
Re: Rayman 1
Do you mean the part where if you step on them they fall down and you have to hit the Antitoons while they are falling?
If you mean that, I got past that already, I meant the part after you can jump on the little platforms with the Antitoons surrounding them and get a Power (you know, those that give you 2 extra hit points so you have 5 after getting them). After that, when you get by the goalpost and get to the next part after what I've already said. That's where I got stuck, I think.

Re: Rayman 1
Oh where you go back to the right then you have to break the cage? All you have to do is break that and then go left again. I assume you must be falling on the way to the left again.

Re: Rayman 1
Yeah if it’s what Steo mentioned above, I think the easiest thing to do is go right and hit the cage, follow the Tings down and follow the path below normally. I think the enemies respawn so careful of those.
Re: Rayman 1
I'm just wondering because if he gets to the left the first time but can't make it there a second time, I wonder where the problem arises.
Re: Rayman 1
Wait, I'm actually not stuck on part 1 anymore! By the way, part 2 is the part with the flying rocket bongos.

Re: Rayman 1
That’s actually phase 3 (the maracas rockets are what I’m assuming you are talking about) unless you’re talking Rayman Advance
Congrats for making it past 1-2 phases of Bongo Hills
The second maracas rocket can be a little challenging since there are several drums that can block your way and if you fall down you have to get past an annoying moth to get to another rocket.
