Re: Pluses (+) and minuses (−) of this day
+ I have been working on getting games to run on DOSBox to run for a couple days. I've gotten used to learning how to run games, and I got at least 1 game running.
- Only problem is most of the games I want to run seem to be Windows so they're not really compatible unless I install a Windows shell in DOSBox or something like that. It looks like I will have to do more research and fiddling with it over the weekend and maybe through next week.
- Another problem is that most of the games I want are really old and most of the files that were shared over the internet are dead or no longer up, so I may need a backup plan if I can't find all the files for the games.

- I felt like absolute crap all day. Worst I've felt in ages.
+ I still went over to my uncles for a few drinks as I had planned to do so and invited my friend in advance.
+ Once I managed to get a couple of drinks into me, I felt much better and had a great night.

– I’m panicking.
– I despise the sound of hammer-action power drills so much.
– I’m very sensitive to sudden loud noises.
– My heart rate goes up rapidly when I hear a power drill.
– It’s just so loud.
– I don’t know what to do about it.

- The DELL computer I’m using has run into a problem and won’t start up while beeping twice continuously. I think it’s a problem with the RAM based on the beep code but I’m nervous about having to fix it myself since I’ve never tried. But I’ll give it a go tomorrow.
+ Thankfully I have my phone and my other laptop to use as backups.

Reseating RAM is just like putting a cartridge into a console in a way, but just be sure to pull the 2 tabs at the sides of each stick which releases them.
- My friend had to cancel plans at the last minute yesterday which we had made.
- He then wouldn't return my messages or calls for hours and I thought he was just ignoring me.
+ He had a genuine reason. Everything is all good and I'm not going to fight with my best friend over something silly.

Well yeah there's that I guess, though I've never actually had it cause any issues for me in the last 15 years or so.

Re: Pluses (+) and minuses (−) of this day
Fifo, can I just say that everyone has different interests. While you find those things boring, others find them really interesting, and it also works the other way around. While you might find something incredibly interesting, another person might find that boring, even though it's highly interesting to you. People aren't looking for your help to bore you, they're looking for your help because you're knowledgeable enough on the subject to lend a helping hand.Fifo wrote: Wed Feb 27, 2019 7:42 pm – I’m really tired of others taking advantage of my knowledge just so that I can help them out with their boring shit.
That is actually an incredibly selfish thing to say! I always help others out when I'm not busy and I don't view it as wasting my time. If anything, it usually wins you more friends at the end of the day. If you don't have time to help others then just don't, but it's friendly and the right thing to do if you're not busy.Fifo wrote: Wed Feb 27, 2019 7:42 pm – I hate wasting my time on others. Well this answers a long-time question I had about you, regarding a few things.Fifo wrote: Wed Feb 27, 2019 7:42 pm – I’m really tired of others taking advantage of my knowledge just so that I can help them out with their boring shit.

First off, you've made it very clear over the years on how you primarily focus on your own interests, yet scoff at anyone else's interests. Much like how you've never had any issues poking fun at other people while you can't stand even the tiniest and most innocent joke directed at you.
Granted, I'm in the same boat when it comes to having countless of things piling on my to-do list, I too have far too many interests and hobbies. Though not being able to complete them all is just the way of life. I don't mind helping others out, except for those who absolutely refuse to help themselves.
However, I must say that I'm very disappointed in your attitude. This is part of the reason why I never cared to accept you via instant messengers, and the above simply re-establishes that reason. Like the time you were more than happy to talk about your interests, I thought it was great, but anytime I've mentioned anything about mine you practically couldn't care less.
This selfish, self-centered, know-it-all, inconsiderate type of attitude is something I (and many others) simply can't stand because it's incredibly rude towards others. You think your wasting time on others? Well I and many others must have been wasting a lot of time on you for the countless of times we've tried to help you or make an actual attempt to share interests/support one another in time of needs.
You keep whining about publicly shaming people for being 'selfish' when they unfriend/unfollow you on social media, like come on, that's life, people move on with their interests.
This is no different than some of the friends I've got, especially one who thinks he's right and no one else is, even with solid reasoning given to him. When you counter what he says with things he's done he tries making up an excuse and he still thinks he's right and doesn't change his mind for anything. Same friend did that when buying a computer. Complained that I was trying to talk him into buying something other than a "cool" computer he found... well guess what? The motherboard ended up dying out because of how cheaply made everything was from that said company.
Don't even get me started on Moonlightelf, who I had to cut all communication with because of her condescending attitudes towards me just because of my ADHD and my character Reese wasn't the type to do what she kept wanting her questions answered for. Now she was definitely the worst person I've ever had to deal with.
Which I guess I have to admit, at least you're not as bad as she is, and I am very thankful for that. Though the point is... try to be a bit more tactful towards others and a little more lax in how you take to others. You don't have to like what they do, but don't make it one-sided.
You're a sharp kid, and have great attention for detail. I still believe you can do many great things, but just with the need to work on how you treat other.
I suppose my rant is a bit of a build up from seeing so many people behaving like this, and no one is pointing it out. The problem sometimes may simply be someone doesn't realize what they are doing, or some just don't care. Never know until you try to help others.
Plus some people needs to be called out on, we can all be civil in society if we simply just respect each other and be a bit more open minded.
Re: Pluses (+) and minuses (−) of this day
Well, it's not true that everyone has different interests because then there wouldn't be fanbases, neither Rayman Pirate-Community as a whole because all of us here are interested in the same thing: Rayman. But I know what you mean and agree with what you say. I also agree with the helping others out thing, it is indeed the right thing to do and if anything, I actually quite enjoy helping others.
+ Didn't expect to contribute this much to RayWiki already: I corrected a bunch of typos on the English version of RayWiki, added more information to the Hungarian version of the Globox article and today I just created an article in the Hungarian wiki about the Tortoises from Rayman 3. Now, of course, because I just created it, it's still just a stub and doesn't contain that much information, but I'm gonna work on it some more when I have time and if any of you (besides myself) know Hungarian here then it would be greatly appreciated for others to contribute as well because the Hungarian version doesn't have a lot of pages and most of the pages that it does have are currently stubs.
+ Also, after this problem is solved, can we please go back to being the happy RPC we were where we joke around and have fun? I know, this is a serious topic, but after that, can we please do that? Just like Steo once said, I want a happy Pirate-Community where we can all get along once and like I said before, just be happy and enjoy the forum.

Nah no need to fear, but I am impressed with your willingness to respond to this. Years back you wouldn't have anything to do with things like this, the fact you didn't outright ignore it and are appreciative of any help directed is a nice change. So I am proud of you for it.Fifo wrote: Wed Feb 27, 2019 9:45 pm – I fear that Hoodcom will judge me/my answers.

You're never alone, you can easily have friends help.
