Rayman Legends for free on EGS on Black Friday '19

Rayman Legends for free for limited time on Epic Game Store.

Reminder - in Legends you'll find remastered levels from Origins.

I'd recommend playing 2D games on big screen (e.g. TV or projector), if still someone haven't played Legends yet. It makes great impression. 21:9 or 32:9 highly recommended.

Is it still dual-DRMed with Uplay?

I think you don't need Uplay installed, but you need to link your Epic Games account with it. Ubisoft did that with past games on there.

I downloaded it and it's just the Uplay version. So you still need the Uplay client installed sadly. Challenges still don't work on PC.

I heard that it links with your Uplay account in a way that you don't have to even download the game via Epic Launcher. Just Uplay.

Yeah EGS is lacking in the DRM department lol.
When the Arkham games were free they were all DRM free as well.

Yeah, I'm thinking the whole servers-down thing has nothing to do with this. It's more likely to have something to do with the fact that the Rayman 3 HoF validation server has also been down for some time.

I doubt it has anything to do with the Hall of Fame API due to how old that is. The Legends servers are the same across all platforms (except Vita), so the fact that it's running fine on all platforms except PC makes me think it has something to do with the PC API, maybe due to some Uplay update.

The gallery for Jungle Run also happened to be down on Android, but that went down much later than the Legends servers.

Well I prefer Steam honestly due to larger gaming library. Because Steam was created early before Epic Games Store and their launcher, but after GameSpy which was created and closed by IGN, right?

I kuch prefer Steam myself to be honest, but the EGS version is free for people that don't have the game is the thing. Steam has a much bigger game library, and it's nice to have all the games in one launcher.

Nice to hear about the game being free but after hearing it's just the Uplay version it wouldn't make sense for me to get it...

I already have that version.

The Steam version uses uplay too, but it has differences for some reason, such as disabling the debug cmdline feature.

Anyway I've found some Epic Games Launcher unofficial,opensource,fanmade,homebrew,bootleg alternatives such as for instance,as an example for Epic Games Launcher named Legendary and Rare.

Basically, "Rare" is a GUI for "Legendary".
