Re: The You Game!
< seen the news where the Taoiseach was talking about why people shouldn't panic, and what people should be doing. < does hope people will at least listen to this news instead of continuing to ignore all advice and spread the virus even further. This epidemic is going to last months, and it's causing a worldwide recession.

Re: The You Game!
< has relatives over this week. Unfortunately, everything seems to be closed due to the stupid virus so there’s hardly anything we can do to show them around. Then again they are enjoying watching soap operas with <‘s dad so < guess it’s not much of a problem.

< was thinking the same thing, except that some of <'s are at least ten years old!PluMGMK wrote: Sat Mar 14, 2020 6:52 pm < noticed today that one of <'s hard drives recently hit the 5-year-uptime mark. Maybe < should consider replacing it with an SSD, since they're getting pretty big at pretty reasonable prices now…
< really should get to buying new ones at some point.
Re: The You Game!
< has a HDD that's like 5 years old too. < mainly stores games on it, but < never thought about its age. < uses an NVMe and another SATA SSD too, it's not like < is running an OS off a HDD in this day and age.

Re: The You Game!
< just happened to look at the SMART statistics the day < posted that, and the uptime was given as 5 years and 6 days. Looks like < had missed a milestone by just under a week, so < had to mark it some way.
Re: The You Game!
It seems <'s 2TB HDD has only been powered on for 1 year, 43 weeks, and 6 days. That probably explains why it's not broken yet, though < is surprised since <'s computer is powered on frequently.
Re: The You Game!
< is finding that this whole Coronavirus story is messing with people's heads. And it is so bad that < finds that whenever someone sneezes or coughs, there is a problem. It doesn't matter if allergies are acting up and causes sneezes. Whenever someone sneezes, suddenly the crowd gets angry and is like "AHH THE VIRUS!" and they run away in every direction possible.
< heard that in the town yesterday, a fight broke out in a Bus terminal and it was all because of someone sneezing near someone else although they had the right idea of covering it. But that didn't stop the next person from pulling hair or throwing punches (in the face).
< thinks that this whole Coronavirus stuff is tearing people apart and it is so horrible that < will stay away from people and be anti-social and it is not for the sake of being safe ONLY.. But to avoid issues with people. < is not getting into a HUGE fight just because < sneezed or coughed while covering it the right way.
This whole virus story is so stupid that < could barely take it seriously. <'s sorry but that is the reality right now.
< gets that people are trying to be safe. But all of this is straight up paranoia and it tresses < out...even by thinking about it. < isn't stressing about this anymore which is why < is sticking with the plan above.
Soon from now. People will start losing their lives and it will not be because of the virus itself. Watch..

Re: The You Game!
< is sorry to hear of that story ^ has told. Sadly though, this seems to be the reality right now, as people, and even the government, are making this virus situation to be some catastrophical apocalypse event or something, when really, it's not. < thinks it would be best if people who contracted the virus would just stay in their homes, but after being stuck in <'s house for a few days now (< can go outside, but there's hardly anywhere left for < to go) < understands that sometime it's hard for people to actually stay in, which is probably why governments in places like California have ordered lockdowns. And unfortunately, < doesn't think this problem will go away soon. It's a very challenging time we all live in today.

Re: The You Game!
< finds it ironic that sneezing isn't even a symptom of COVID-19. Coughing, yes, but not sneezing.

< even heard on the news that someone was purposefully coughing at people, and they were dead serious about it too.

This is one of the reasons why < is barely taking this whole stuff seriously.Steo wrote: Mon Mar 23, 2020 8:15 pm < even heard on the news that someone was purposefully coughing at people, and they were dead serious about it too.![]()
< forgot to mention that there are actually people who are doing practical jokes that relates to this virus situation and they are definitely not making things any better.

< says hi back
I went to the store yesterday and someone was doing this. He kept coughing on everyone that passed by and started laughing and shouting "Coronavirus!"Steo wrote: Mon Mar 23, 2020 8:15 pm < even heard on the news that someone was purposefully coughing at people, and they were dead serious about it too.![]()
Re: The You Game!
< knows that people are messing around for the fun of it, yet some people are being serious and not seeing the funny side of it. Sometimes people just want make the most of a bad situation and laugh about it, which I don't think does any harm. It does sound a bit silly, but the virus has caused so much boredom that you can't even blame them.TheAlexinator wrote: Tue Mar 24, 2020 7:12 pm I went to the store yesterday and someone was doing this. < sees that we're gonna have to stay indoors for an additional two weeks at least, as expected.
< enjoys the additional time to work on side projects, at least.

< has just been trying out different hardware in a computer build since we're supposed to stay in anyway. < wonders how long this would take to end, even if people obeyed the guidelines.
Re: The You Game!
< went out to buy bread from a supermarket and saw the minds of people messed with due to this virus nonsense for <'s self.
Seriously. < is cool with playing it safe. But straight up worrying about things is not the way.

Re: The You Game!
< knows the panic is only going to affect people's mental health negatively, which can also make a person ill. < heard there was this dumb challenge going around where people are licking things like toilet seats.
