Re: The ‘tfw’ topic
It's happened to you too? It happened to me yesterday morning when I was trying to assemble a home-grown decompressor for PMODE/W executables (e.g. Rayman 1) but hadn't divided it into the right sections to make an ELF file, so UASM segfaulted when trying to assemble it into ELF format.
Re: The ‘tfw’ topic
I don't think I ever seen the actual compiler segfault just yet. Maybe I'll see it sometime soon when I get into this more.

Re: The ‘tfw’ topic
I meant just segfaulting in general, when I first started coding in C in school, I commonly got segfaults due to silly typos when allocating memory. I should have been more specific when I said that in the first place.
tfw you realize you need more star bits to access the final star in SMG2.

Re: The ‘tfw’ topic
That's what I thought. "When the compiler itself segfaults" is more like a "You know you suck at Rayman programming when…" reply than something that would really happen to someone! Even in my case it's not technically true, since it was an assembler I was using, not a compiler.
Re: The ‘tfw’ topic
tfw you decide to return your 5700XT since it's nothing but trouble, and it turns out you chose the perfect time since 31st of July was the deadline to return it.

Re: The ‘tfw’ topic
tfw you’re working on something when people sit down at the table next to you. And one isn’t wearing a mask.
Re: The ‘tfw’ topic
tfw the arm on your chair breaks, but it's not like you haven't been expecting it since it's falling apart and you're buying a new one soon anyway.

tfw you keep waking up at noon or somewhere in those lines.
Re: The ‘tfw’ topic
tfw you realise the deadline to return an item is tomorrow, so you package it and rush to the post office before it closes.

Re: The ‘tfw’ topic
tfw you finally get a program working, that's written in Rust but has a ream of inline assembly that kinda defeats the purpose of using Rust.
Re: The ‘tfw’ topic
tfw you realise that basically every other language is more complicated than English.

tfw you pull into a parking lot and find a shopping cart in the way.
Re: The ‘tfw’ topic

Re: The ‘tfw’ topic
You have to pay a deposit to use shopping carts?
The parking lot and the carts are free at the store I went to.
tfw you put on your earphones when playing a GBC Pokemon game and get blasted in the eardrums.

Re: The ‘tfw’ topic
Wait, you don't? We always had to put a coin in the trolley to use it, then you get it back when you're finished with it. The reason they do this is so people won't steal the trolleys, or if someone is that desperate for one, they have to pay 2 euro for it.

Re: The ‘tfw’ topic
So far I've seen only homeless people be desperate enough for a cart, just so they can store their belongings.
Otherwise, nah I've never seen that being done here.

Re: The ‘tfw’ topic
The closest I've seen is paying money to use the trolleys at the airport. The only difference is you don't get the money back!
