Klonoa Series
Hey, I guess I can start a new topic for Klonoa. Phantasy Reverie Series comes out today. I don't have it, at least for now. It is the first 2 games with improved graphics, of course (like a remake or remaster or something.) This is the topic for the Klonoa series. What do you think of the series?

Haven't heard of it. Maybe I'll check it out after RD. It wouldn't be the first franchise beginning with K that you've introduced me to!

I didn't know about this series, but I like the art style.

Re: Klonoa Series
Funnily enough, I ended up searching for Klonoa at a couple of stores. Well, it turns out it might not be getting a physical release in North America or at least not a mass-produced one if any. That's kind of lame. Here's the thing, though, that is the second time in the past 2 months where I have looked for a game at the store and find out it is not being released physically or not mass-produced physically. The other game just so happened to be starring a certain kangaroo lol. It kind of bothers me that this article exists, though: https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2022/ ... -on-switch. I guess that it was soon after it was announced and that the website is European based but still.
(PAL did get physical, I think.)

Re: Klonoa Series
Tbh I'm not a big fan of physical releases these days. I mean, it'd be one thing if having a physical release meant you had it forever, but in reality it'll still tied to the same DRM as if you had bought it online. Well, that's a sweeping general statement, maybe it's not the case for some games…

Yeah, sometimes I miss the old days of physical media.

Re: Klonoa Series
I don't really. Lost and scratched discs were the bane of my childhood gaming and boxset-watching! We have more discipline around them now though…

Re: Klonoa Series
Well, yeah, I remember playing some DVDs in the past and the movie was not playing properly because of the damage in the disc. There is also the stuff about the regions, I recently found out that in one of my computers, the region can only be changed a certain number of times and after that it locks in, which means now it doesn't recognize most of my DVDs

Although, physical media doesn't take up space except updates and stuff. But a disadvantage is that physical media now doesn't have manuals like ever nowadays.

Oh yes, DVD drives only have a finite number of region changes before they lock. You should be able to get around it with VLC though…Elite Piranha wrote: Sat Jul 09, 2022 4:10 pm Well, yeah, I remember playing some DVDs in the past and the movie was not playing properly because of the damage in the disc.
