Wonder if I should make smoothies again. Bet Cosmic wouldn't mind, since they can eat normally again after getting a tooth removed.

Re: How's the weather?
I'm glad I don't have that kind of hot right now. Maybe 101-2 here but not wore.
Re: How's the weather?
It was still a fair bit away but yeah you never know. I wonder if something metal was on that roof to attract it, I don't see why it would just be conducted by roof slates at random.PluMGMK wrote: Sat Aug 26, 2023 10:33 pm Sounds like a close shave! Thank God you're all right anyway!

Well it's currently dark out but also overcast so I can't see the Moon
Re: How's the weather?
Oh well yeah I guess that's true, one of the most obvious things that water conducts it.

Re: How's the weather?
At least it does when it has dissolved ions, which rainwater does, and it can pick up more from a roof!
Re: How's the weather?
I guess they were older houses too on top of all that, not that our house is exactly new either.

Re: How's the weather?
It’s currently a nice cool 11 degrees in where I live, haven’t had it this cool since may
it’s nearing the end of the summer and I can’t wait for winter!
(That’s 52 Fahrenheit if Jonster was curious)

Re: How's the weather?
Iirc, he was from England, right?
Re: How's the weather?
I seen a video today regarding this that someone in a car recorded, and it confirmed what I thought. I was looking at the image the other day and thinking "where is the chimney", thinking maybe that's what was struck. The video I seen confirmed this, as the person in their car recording it showed the pieces of chimney all over the road, stating "blew the whole fuckin' chimney all over the road, look!".
I assume they probably had one of those chimney guards to stop birds landing on it, and it got struck, blew the chimney up, and managed to ignite something within the foundation such as the insulation or wooden beams (since lightening is extremely hot). If it wasn't a guard, possibly some sort of antenna being attached to the chimney. I don't know how else it could happen, since roof slates aren't exactly flammable.

Sorry for double posting even tho it’s been a while, but it’s getting to 30°C (87°F) during this week IN SEPTEMBER, the hottest it has been since early June, even tho that’s rookie numbers for Jonster
