SAME!... actually, similar. I did snow but I don't know if I am 20-24 Celsius this week.

We had some rain here, but it has given way to more sun alas. May it return to us soon and deliver us from this hellish summer.

It hasn't been as hot as the previous days.

Last week Andalucía reached >40ºC... At least there wasn't humidity!

That sounds horrible, my deepest sympathies. I think we've topped out over 30C here, but 40C and I'd probs consider nonexistence.

I’m not sure how it’s always hotter in mainland Spain than Lanzarote, maybe because it’s more coastal in the canaries?

I gotta say it wasn't that bad, as I said, because there wasn't humidity. Sure, it was suffocating, but as you didn't stay behind the sun you would be fine. Here we don't reach 40ºC, it's normally around 30-32ºC, but the humidity makes it definitely worse. You can't take a single step on the street, you're sweating immediately :pascontent:

Yeah I think that's what makes summers bad here, it's not necessarily the heat, it's the heat combined with drowning in your own sweat. Cause you can't even cool yourself properly, and that brings the risk of heat stroke 😔

Because the Canary Islands have a tropical weather! It will never be as hot as it is in the peninsula.

This discussion makes me feel glad I live in practically the only place on earth that has cold summers, consisting of the Nordic countries and the British isles

I dunno, I think the UK's gonna wanna look at getting AC in the coming years, there's definitely been summers here where I can't even sleep cause of the hot humid conditions.

Now I remember when there was a conversation at work earlier in the summer when people were saying that we probably wouldn't get any more heat for the summer. I assured them we would, because of climate change plus El Niño. They were like, you're always so pessimistic, why are you being optimistic about the weather? I said I'm not being optimistic, this is a bad thing! :pascontent:

It's the humidity I can't stand, especially at night time. That dead heat is a nightmare.

Oh dear, not everyone has ACs installed in their homes?

I still have that in my house (and with a fan on top of that) and sometimes I’ll still be feeling hot.

Yeah, an attitude that annoys me in particular is when people say "its nice out ain't it?" when it's more like boiling and there's a sense of dread because it's almost like there's a sense of denial about the implications of the obscenely warm days.
