This year we have an extra day off (i.e. two in total) in recognition of the Covid hardship of the last two years (and ironically the Taoiseach now has Covid ). From next year (if we're still here), the extra holiday will be around Saint Brigid's Day instead.
My dad mentioned that people were calling it that on Facebook. They definitely don't get it...
