Re: The You Game!
Because ^’s post appeared somewhat insincere/self-focused/narcissistic to <
(sorry if that stings)

< only just realized that ^^^^^'s signature changes each time the page loads. < had thought ^^^^^ was just extremely fast at creating new ones and too capricious to stick to one design XD

Re: The You Game!
In a cryptic crossword, every clue is a puzzle in itself. You usually have to rearrange letters and combine words to create the final answer. The puzzles follow a long list of complicated unwritten rules... For example, a cryptic clue for "Rayman" might be "A thingamajig ran around a mashed up yam". Sounds like nonsense at first, but the clue can be used to create the word Rayman. "A mashed up yam" means take the word "yam" and mash it up (rearrange the letters), you get "yma". Now put the word RAN around the letters "yma": RAymaN. Hence "ran around a mashed up yam" is the puzzle which tells you how to make the answer letter by letter. Then every cryptic clue also has the actual definition of the word in there to confirm your answer, in this case "a thingamajig" is the definition because famously Rayman is a thingamajig. And there you go, a cryptic crossword clue. They are devilishly difficult but addictive once you get the hang of them.Greengoop wrote: Sun Mar 30, 2025 4:31 pm < wonders what the difference between cryptic and noncryptic crosswords are
