I feel that way a lot, so don’t think it’s weird! Sometimes I buy a stack of games and don’t feel like I’m ready to dive into anything complex so I just play Minecraft or something.

Indeed, and of course while people knock them, casual games are also a decent option in such a case. Sure they're not usually in-depth or particularly engrossing, but they're nice if you don't want anything particularly cerebral but also want to pass the time.

Bejeweled tends to be my go-to for such circumstances.
