Surprisingly, no. In my field of work in the private sector, unions are so useless that all representatives are only puppets of upper management.

Unions have been demonized in the eyes of the general public in the western world since at least the 80s.

I believe phpBB stops doing that by default due to server/database load concerns, and my research on a demo install of phpBB confirms it:
