A year and a half ago, I would have encouraged you to play the game! It's got pretty fun gameplay, great graphics (though a good chunk of them are reused from Crash 4), a good soundtrack (which is made up of reused music from the N. Sane Trilogy, Nitro-Fueled, and Crash 4, as well as random instrumentals for victory music), and there was never a dull moment during its three seasons of new content! I still have some good memories of playing as Ripper Roo. However, ever since they stopped making new content for Rumble, I've very rarely touched it, so there isn't much incentive to join the Rumble these days. :(
Mortamon Saturn wrote: Fri May 23, 2025 9:15 pm But hey, can't be worse than Boom Bang (which I regret buying despite getting it at like 3€! :hap: ), so I'll definitely get to it when it'll be extra cheap.
"Can't be worse than Boom Bang" is a pretty low bar to be honest... :oops2:
Mortamon Saturn wrote: Fri May 23, 2025 9:15 pm As for Metal Arms Glitch in The System, it's often described as "Halo meets Ratchet & Clank", and it's the textbook definition of an underrated gem! With extremely good game mechanics, a world of robots with some very cool lore and aesthetics (the Morbot region... :nostalgic: ), hilarious characters, a fun adventure with a great sense of progress through the many upgrades and items + secrets you can find, and creative weapons that have yet to be seen in any other game for many of them!

You could sneak on enemy robots to take control of them and use all of their unique movesets (ranging from a heavy mech with gatling guns for hands+a rocket launcher to big flying drones with laser beams... or to badass Bionicle-looking guys with a big axe! :hehe: ), turn them to your side with a recruit grenade... or dismember them in such detail that you could transform them into either a sentient pair of legs or into a torso stuck forever as a glorified turret/camera!
All of this in either the amazing campaign mode or in multiplayer (with optional bots for the latter)! Very fun stuff! :mryellow:
...And yes, I love it so much that I could talk about it all day! :oops2:
Judging by that description, the game sounds really fun and interesting! It's a shame that it was just a one-time thing, that formula sounds like something that could easily be expanded upon with a sequel. :mryellow:

It really was unlucky timing with Toys for Bob suddenly becoming independant, and unlike Nitro-Fueled, it wasn't built from two preexisting games with the main one being famous for its absolutely perfected gameplay inspired by another famous series (Mario Kart, as Team Racing was made as a love letter to it), so Rumble won't benefit from its near endless replay value...

Quite literally the lowest bar! (Well, there's lower... the mobile version! :P :beurk: )
But if I gave a chance to the lowest bar, then I have no excuse not to try a new Crash multiplayer game which didn't lower it any further!

Oh please, do! As I've been very interested about the Earthworm Jim series for over a decade without ever finding an opportunity to try any of the games, I'd gladly listen to what you have say about this one! :mryellow:

I didn't get to play it, but this game brings me good memories from Sheep Raider/Sheep Dog 'n' Wolf (Une Faim de Loup in our glorious Bleu-Blanc-Rouge country :noel: ), another underrated Looney Tunes gem on the PS1 and PC! :D

Well, if that's what you want...

Earthworm Jim is one of the surprisingly many original IPs that sprang up during the 90s but never took off for long, which is a shame, because this was a really great series! The first game, aptly titled Earthworm Jim, has really fun 2D platformer/run and gun gameplay, hilarious character designs and personalities (ranging from the nefarious Professor Monkey-for-a-Head to the beautiful Princess What's-Her-Name), and one of the best video game soundtracks the Genesis has to offer! :D

There's a wide variety of levels to explore, from the underwater world of Down the Tubes - which was patrolled by super muscular cats and had you fight Bob the Killer Goldfish (all you had to do to beat him was touch him to knock him off his pedestal and break his fishbowl, leaving him flopping on the ground) - to the bungee-jumping boss fight against humanoid mucus in Snot a Problem! In between most worlds, you'd even race against an anthropomorphic crow in a yellow spacesuit! You'll even launch a cow into space at the start of the game, only for it to land on the very princess you spent the entire game trying to get to in the game's ending. It's unsatisfying, sure, but it's really funny nonetheless! This was one of those games that knew it was totally absurd and turned it up to 11.

The first game was so successful that it got a sequel just a year afterwards and an animated cartoon show (and a hysterical one, at that) in the same year! So why didn't this GROOVY series take off like others did? Well, Jim's first foray into 3D was pretty bad, and his last game (as of writing this) was a cheap Game Boy Color sequel. Since then, Interplay Entertainment has left him on the scrap heap and has, to my knowledge, silently cancelled "Earthworm Jim 4," leaving the fate of our hero in a super-suit unknown but not looking good. :(

So yeah, Earthworm Jim, despite being a childhood favorite of mine, hasn't come back in two decades, and I highly doubt that he will return anytime soon. But until he does, I'll still be listening to one of the many banger songs that came from the game that started it all. :nostalgic:

blink-182- Reckless Abandon

Code: Select all

On and on, reckless abandon
Something's wrong, this is gonna shock them
Nothing to hold on to
We'll use this song to lead you on
I learned a lot today, not sure if I'll get laid and
Not sure if I'll fail or pass, kissed every girl in class
Everybody would waste it all to have a summer that they could call
A memory that's full of fun, fucked up when it's all done
On and on, reckless abandon
Something's wrong, this is gonna shock them
Nothing to hold on to
We'll use this song to lead you on
And break the truth with more bad news
We left a scar, size extra-large
Sip a drink of the alcohol, end up kneeling in bathroom stalls
Eyes are red and my movement's slow, too high, got vertigo
He took a shit in the bathroom tub and fed the dog brownie drugs
Tried hard to not get caught, he fucked a chick in the parking lot
On and on, reckless abandon
Something's wrong, this is gonna shock them
Nothing to hold on to
We'll use this song to lead you on
And break the truth with more bad news
We left a scar, size extra-large
Break a window and bust a wall, making fun of your friend's mom
Turn the music up way too loud, charge the pizza to the house
Everybody would waste it all to have a summer that they could call
A memory that's full of fun, fucked up when it's all done
On and on, reckless abandon
Something's wrong, this is gonna shock them
Nothing to hold on to
We'll use this song to lead you on
And break the truth with more bad news
We left a scar, size extra-large

How To Train Your Dragon Epic Cover - We Go With the Sky - By Lucas Ricciotti

Code: Select all

We go with the sky
Our hearts belong to flight
Through the storm we find our way
In the clouds we leave our past behind
We are shadows dancing in the light

We go with the sky
Our hearts belong to flight
Through the storm we find our way
In the clouds we leave our past behind

Eyes that see my soul
He flies when I fall
Green eyes watching through the night
We will go where none have dared to fly
We ride the winds no one else can find

Well, they did a trailer for a new Earthworm Jim TV series back in 2021, but alas, there has been no news since.. It’s probably scrapped by now, which really sucks as i was really anticipating it
Not to mention, the aforementioned series had no connection to TenNapel apparently, which was nice to hear.
Edit : Upon researching a bit more, apparently the whole thing was some kinda NFT scam? Man, we cannot have nice things anymore. I don’t know if that’s really true, though.

Already posted this recently, but I have an insane earworm for this song. I've been playing it on loop for days now :oops2:

Her voice is almost addicting! :hap:
