< finally got a confirmation that the interruption was caused by “scheduled maintenance work” at the data center, something < would have appreciated a heads-up about!

< finds it bizarre that they would schedule maintenance work and not tell their customers about it. Unless it was a situation where there was routine maintenance work going on, which was not intended to cause any outage, then someone tripped over a cable and knocked out the power to a bunch of servers! < was on the customer side of a somewhat-analogous situation a couple of years back…
