Re: The You Game!
< just had an old memory of <'s resurface, of old screen projectors that used to be used in conjunction with interactive whiteboards. They used to countdown as the projector warmed up, and when we were really young, we'd count down with it.
< wonders, do modern projectors still do countdowns as they warm up? Or has modern technology meant there's no need for a warmup phase? < can't even remember the last time <'s messed with a projector...

Re: The You Game!
< Wouldn't be surprised if it mostly depended on the technology of the projectors. < bets laser projectors may be a bit different on this.
Re: The You Game!
< was at the store today and was picking up a few beers for < and <'s dad. < happened to walk through the aisle where the dog treats were, and after walking 2 of the dogs yesterday, < had the lot of them in mind, and couldn't help but buy them a big pack of dog biscuits.

Re: The You Game!
Makes sense, < thinks getting a treat for your pets is only natural if you happen to pass by their aisle, < hopes they enjoy it!
Incidentally, <'s been on the Deltarune brainrot for too long, that whenever < reads "beer" <'s brain immediately defaults to:
Or if it's really bad:

Probably, < did try to see if < could find information on the projectors of the time, but < couldn't really find anything substantive (granted <'s interest in the search fizzled out after 5 minutes...)Reese Riverson wrote: Wed Oct 08, 2025 8:18 pm < Wouldn't be surprised if it mostly depended on the technology of the projectors. < bets laser projectors may be a bit different on this.

Re: The You Game!
< still deals with projectors that take ages to warm up, and don't have any niceties like a fancy countdown!

Re: The You Game!
< clearly was spoiled with the projectors <'s encountered, < does remember they were Sanyo projectors, but < can't remember if they were considered a "fancy" brand.
Re: The You Game!
< got <'s GOG account switched to a good email.
< feels good

< is still struggling going to bed at a good time, things just keep < occupied. There's never enough time in a day.

Re: The You Game!
< is finding <'s self getting like that even though < ends up tired. < probably likes how quiet it is at night though, even if that sounds weird.

I suppose it's the price < and ^ must pay to squeeze in more time in a day, though it's certainly costing < sleep.

This is the classic struggle < has to deal with each day. Though < suppose ^ isn't sleeping as late as < is.Reese Riverson wrote: Thu Oct 09, 2025 1:22 pm < is still struggling going to bed at a good time, things just keep < occupied. There's never enough time in a day.

Re: The You Game!
Yeah, < really isn't, since < gets woke up by the 6:15AM alarm on the work mornings. < can't sleep in.
Re: The You Game!
< definitely wouldn't be able to stay up until the times < does, then get up at 6:15AM.

Re: The You Game!
< needs to think of everything < needs to prepare for <'s parents before they head down to the lake house this evening. Especially so that walking them through some of the router settings will go smoothly in the morning.
Re: The You Game!
< really can't imagine <'s parents having a clue how to do this even if < tried to explain it very clearly. They'd probably be afraid to even try, even though you're literally telling them what to click on.

Re: The You Game!
< only noticed the talk about screen projectors here. < remembers going to the PE hall in school to watch the World Cup in 2002 on one of those, because Ireland had qualified for it. They literally brought everyone to the hall to watch the whole match instead of doing work.
<'s dad recently found some projector, which looks relatively cheap. < tried to plug it in, but it wouldn't even power on. < just left it in a box and never bothered trying to look at it again yet.
