Re: What internet service do you use?
Don't know if it's really worth going to the trouble. people will find ways to avoid it.
Re: What internet service do you use?
I don't know if we should have a autocensor here.

Re: What internet service do you use?
Isn't that what I just said?
Re: What internet service do you use?
I suppose that there isn't an autocencor, because Hunchman trusts us to not use such language. Just a guess though. =3 But that's what I'd guess anyways, I mean, just how many times does one see swearing around here anyways? Why cencor something that hardly ever turns up? ^^ But if swearing and such occurred frequently around here, or something similar it would be something completely different though. o.o

Re: What internet service do you use?
well, I think it's cool that Hunch trusts us. I at least think we should do this(@#$%@#) instead of real curse words.
Re: What internet service do you use?
If we need to swear, we will swear. I think we should be allowed to swear at bad members like matyuv and the like...

Re: What internet service do you use?
That's a good point, but I would think pianoman can justify his own decisions.
Re: What internet service do you use?
I get on with him now, but I will still swear at his former spamming account.

Re: What internet service do you use?
6 mbps is the largest? I have 100 mbps from quite a small provider.
Re: What internet service do you use?
I'm on 54 mbps.

Re: What internet service do you use?
That's pretty good, especially considering a lot of people here are on single digit connections.

Re: What internet service do you use?
No, I mean like, the provider itself is one of the lasrgest or the largest (I'm not even sure), I don't mean the speed. Of course we have providers that can give you 100mbps as well.gojaromeiginla wrote:6 mbps is the largest? I have 100 mbps from quite a small provider.
Re: What internet service do you use?

Re: What internet service do you use?
As long as I will be the admin of Pirate-Community, there will never be any word censorship here.
First of all, people do not need cuss words to insult someone. That is why punishing those who attack the others without a good reason is the only solution to clashes.
Secondly, word filters cannot be efficient. If you want to censor the word fuck, do you have any idea how many combinations of letters, numbers and other characters you will have to disable? Any idiot is able to bypass it by adding dots and other symbols (f.u.c.k, f'u''c'k), by spelling it 1337 or using special characters instead of letters (f|_|[k).
Thirdly, in most cases, the censored word will be as understandable as the original one. Do you really think that spelling fuck f*ck will change anything? That someone reading '**** you' will be less offended than if he clearly read 'fuck you'?
Also remember that cuss words are part of our language, and that political and religious censorship have always been the enemies of culture.
Finally, if someone is shocked when reading a cuss word, then a Teletubbies forum will suit them much better than Pirate-Community.
I hope it is clear for everyone. Unless someone has anything interesting to add about that, which I doubt, I do not want to hear about word censorship from now on.
